Prologue

The shadows grew weary across the land. The sun was setting, covering the land with a dark blanket. As the black mist rose, a young boy known as Abaddon was created.

Chapter 1

As the boy lowered into the thick mist of the Font, his eyes grew to a feint glow. The elders of Avernus grew restless, whispering silently to eachother. This was unusual for a baptism. Never had they seen someone's eyes glow so furiously. It was only a way for them to connect to the black mist.

As time went on, Abaddon lived a normal scion's life. Trained in fighting since the age of 8. He was to take over his father's job, leading the Black Mist army. Though Abaddon objected to violence. Instead of turning up to training, he would secretly meditate on the Hill of Aeturn.

Chapter 2

One particular day, the mist seemed to rise higher. As he sat on the hill, meditating, he came to hear a deep voice behind him. As he turned his head to look, there had been no one, not even a sight of movement. He turned back to see a sight of a black creature. It was huffing and nudging Abaddon. He stood up slowly, patting the creature on the nose. It had seemed to be a horse of the dark mist. He reached slowly over it's back. The horse had black armour not visible, though you could feel it. Smooth and hard, under the touch of his palm. He jumped, stumbling up onto the horse's back. The horse followed his command of where he wanted to go. They were able to connect through telepathy which Abaddon had learnt himself during his time of meditation.

He continued to head up to the hill everyday with his horse, Netherax. He drank from the Black Mist vapours which surrounded him. Abaddon learned many spells just by meditating in the black mist. For example, Mist Coil: where he sacrificed part of himself in damage to the enemy, Aphotic shield: where he infuses dark energy to protect allies and himself an last but not least, the most common of all powers: The curse of Avernus, every attack slowing the enemy with mist. Abaddon grew strong, a creature of the Black Mist.

Chapter 3

One night, as he pursued his way home, people were crying around him and some looking disappointed at Abaddon. What had he done? He reached the Font of Avernus and the elders stated,

"You have been ignoring your responsibilities, the time of war had come upon us. The war between Radiant and Dire have penetrated our city. Word of the wizard, Keeper of the Light, has come. It is said, he had joined the Radiant. Our Outpost up North has been destroyed and we have no leader. Your father died earlier this afternoon defending our village, and now you're supposed to be our leader. You have no skill in fighting or training".

Little did the elders know Abaddon had been preparing for this day and had been stronger than they ever could imagine. The rider got back onto the horse's back and started to ride as fast as the wind. The scenery zoomed passed him as he tried to forget about his father's death.

Chapter 4

Dead bodies lay across the ground, as if time had stopped. Men were being wiped out by the strong gusts of wind supposedly coming from Keeper of the Light. He rode over the dead pile of bodies, trying to find the one that once was his father.

Infront of him lay his father's motionless corpse which blended in with the rest of the scenery. Abaddon jumped off his horse and kneeled down beside him. Tears fell. He got up slowly, grabbed his father's mace and rode into battle.

Chapter 5

He rode, shooting black mist coils at the enemy. His allies were shocked of his unknown power. He condensed the mist into many shields which protected him and his allies. The men realised all this time, they were wrong to judge Abaddon. He was more powerful than any of them. Out of nowhere Abaddon gt knocked off his horse in a large gust of wind. He looked up at the hill finding Keeper's sneering face glare upon him. As he readied up another gust of wind, Abaddon knew it wasn't the end. The wind fast and strong came directly at him. He was a dead man...

Abaddon eyes flared up, though this time his whole body was producing a glow. As he took the damage from the gust, it seemed as if he was healing him. The shocked eyes of the enemy and allies were upon him.

The enemy retreated.

Chapter 6

He came back to the Font, everyone congratulating him and praising him for saving their village. Though the battle had yet to conclude.

He said farewell to his grieving mother as he jumped up onto the horse and rode North to the Valley of Titans where he would face off the dire.
