Chapter 1- The Beginning

Eliza Norans POV

"Anala, wait up", as I stop to take a breath in my snow leopard form, huffing and puffing, I remember how this all began.

"Miss Noran, please come up, to show the class the procedure of this science experiment". My teacher Mr Brolain calls out in front of the whole class, this is so embarrassing, the only African American teacher in my school that is very strict and I have him for the whole of year 9. I get up and just go for it, I look behind me to see the whole class laughing at me even Tyson Ricky the schools hottest and most popular sporty kid, I have liked him since the first grade, his brown hair and eyes get me every time. Even my teacher is laughing. I don't know why but I feel a hairy figure crawling up my back.

"AHHH!"

There is a hairy spider on my back, and all I can think of is screaming and running around like a lunatic.

I finally get the spider off my back, actually it was my teacher but I get it off and look through the crack of the door that leads to the classroom next to mine and see my friends Anala, Lily and Tahni having so much fun in the back row of their classroom. Now I just want to be with my friends, this is the only year I have been apart from them and it is killing me. I get up just about to talk and a squeaky, blunt noise comes from my backside, all I can hear are the sounds of voices laughing in my head and I run frantically out of the room without a strip of stress.

As I sit down with my head between my knees crying, the teacher that was teaching my friend's class, came up to me and without a catch of breath whispers to me,

"Eliza, I know it's hard when someone ask you to do something, but trust me it will get better, I promise. Come to my class for the last 10 minutes, and you can have some fun messing around with chemicals".

As I walk into the class next door, that has all my friends in it, I sit down and Mrs Lana, a British substitute, sets us free with limited chemicals to experiment on.

As Anala pours many chemicals into the beaker, I get a tap on my shoulder.

"Eliza, on behalf of the class, we apologise for rudely laughing at you and you..." Tyson Ricky was saying with a lot of relief in his voice, but we both stop and turn around to see that the chemicals that were mixed into the beaker have now started forming a storm cloud above our heads and lightning strikes each and everyone of us.

As we wake up, we all walk outside to see what has happened and everyone in every class apart from the students in the eruption room, are all laying on the floor. We look at each other with shocks on our faces to see that we are all an animal of different kinds from wild cats to large reptiles. Mr Brolain, whom happened to be in the room also, asked Anala what exactly she put in the beaker, to which she replied "A drop of Hyptonian and the whole thing of Chantinite". For about an hour Mr Brolain explained to us how the potions effect on each other to create a chemical large enough to make an explosive danger that turns all human life, that is within 10m of the potion, into a form of animal. At the end of his lecture he explained that we need to react fast, and get away from this area, as if the government finds us they will lock us up and experiment on us.

As we got to the forest, about 120 miles from the school, both teachers call us out to have a meeting. Mr Brolain with a strong voice says, "Every one that is here, must always remain within 30m of this very spot until I get the potion that will protect us", to this we were all confused, potions? Protect? Animals? What did this mean. We were told that we have to be taught skills for surviving and also how to change back into human form. What did he mean? How does he know this? None of us know what he is on about but we trust him and for 9 months train and learn skills.
