 “I should’ve told you sooner but I didn’t have the heart to tell you that my dad has arranged a marriage for me. She's from Midnight Gray one of the strongest pack  in the U.S and she’s the daughter of an alpha. You're going to meet her today at the pack party, everyone will" he whispered to me. 

“What do I do now” I yelled at Ryan.

 At this point I was just furious about him doing this now not only is he telling me that he is going to marry another girl after we were together for 4 years but he tells me literally last minute before he shows her to the pack.

“Baby I know this hard, it was really hard for me to chose her over you but doing this is the best for the pack. Midnight Gray is one of the strongest pack and it will help our pack (Regal Pack). If I marry her will have an alliance with them and that’s something I have to do for my pack…..”.

“When are you going to marry her” I interrupted him. I’m just emotionally over this whole thing and how he is trying to convince me that what he is doing is right.

“In less in a week, that’s why she’s already here so the pack meets her and everything is ready for the wedding. And we obviously can’t stay together because after I mate with her she will be the only one I will love”.  

At this point my heart just broke. I was no longer in shock and everything he just told me has finally just sunken in.

“How can you just let me go after 4 years together! What about all the times you told me you loved me ? I just wanted to cry but I’m gonna be stronger then that, I have to.

“This is how mating works Lexi, after I mate with her the love we had will be gone and I would just love my mate”. Every word he said to me just kept breaking my heart even more as if that was possible.

He didn’t even feel regretful or heartbroken for having to leave me but why would he, he’s going to marry a daughters Alpha when I’m not even a werewolf. I was just a damn toy for him until he found someone suitable for him.

I couldn’t handle being in the car anymore so I got my bag and got out of the car and just ran away from him.

“Wow Lexi where the hell are you going” Ryan caught my wrist in seconds.

“Don’t touch me! Don’t talk to me! You’re dead to me!” I said to Ryan while I tried to get out of his hold. After struggling for few seconds he finally let me go.

I looked up to see his face and his eyes looked hurt.

“You don’t mean that “ he sincerely sounded hurt now.

“Yes I do Ryan and I don’t want to see her face either!” I’m leaving please don’t follow me unless you want me to make a scene in front of the pack with your fiancée” I sneered to him.

He let me go and I just walked. At this more and more questions were just in my mind.  How long did he know about this girl? Did he ever love me like he told me everyday? What is the pack going to say about this?

Thinking can really kill a person and I couldn’t handle this. I started to cry and decided to just call a cab.

After 30 minutes I was now in my apartment that I shared with my college friend Rachel she is also human but has a werewolf mom but she never wanted to be a wolf so she stays away from the pack.
