Chapter 23: Heartbroken

* Zarion's POV *

Birdman & I had been actually "dating". The private flights, expensive wines, luxurious vacations... It all had been wonderful & something I was never use to. It just felt nice. Riding down to his place with the windows down in the Ferrari. This had to be life. About to visit MY man. Walking inside, he was packing things in a suitcase with a limo out front.

Zarion: Why is there a limo out front? Taking me somewhere? Another surprise vacation?

I started smiling & laid back on the bed.

Zarion: I didn't bring anything. You should've told me. Oh, you're gonna spoil me by buying it, huh?

He just finished packing as if I weren't there.

Zarion: Bryan!

Birdman: Yeah Zarion?

Zarion: You're not gonna tell me where we are going?

Birdman: You mean where I'M going?

Zarion: Oh...

Birdman: But since you're interested in wanting to know, I've got some business to handle in Chicago the next 3 weeks.

Zarion: Oh, well... My schedule is free for 2 weeks. I'll be able to go. I'll just have someone send some of my stuff up there.

Birdman: Actually this is a business trip for business.

Zarion: Oh okay. Well, I can stop by sometime &...

He cut me off.

Birdman: I think it's best you stay here.

Zarion: What's the problem? Why are you acting like this towards me?

Birdman: Acting like what?

Zarion: Like I'm not wanted.

Birdman: I've done all you asked. You got the dick, the gifts, vacations. What more you looking for?

Zarion: For you to be my boyfriend, not fuck buddy!

Birdman: That's something I can't offer you. I think it's best we stay friends.

He finished packing a shirt I picked out for him into the suitcase & closing it. I sat there thinking about what he had just said over & over. Was this really how he felt from the beginning? Did he only spoil me to get what he wanted? Did he really care for me at all? I stormed out the house rushing home in my own tears.
