CHAPTER 21

Who ever had control of Loki, was, in essence a drama queen. Now he has Lila, he's convinced he can't be stopped, so what he wants is an audience. Clint's head snapped up so fast, Natasha was surprised he didn't get whiplash.

"New York. New York is his play. Loki wants his name in lights, he wants an audience. Where better than Stark tower?"

It was all fine and well that Clint had figured out where there were going to ultimately end up, but they all knew that they probably wouldn't see hide nor hair of them until his plans were complete.

So, what to do now?

Wolverine sat away from all rest, thinking quietly to himself while they brainstormed.

:What are you thinking so deeply about Logan?: A voice echoed in his mind.

Logan turned and scowled at the professor but answered him mentally.

:I was thinking about Cerebro. I know the suggestion was turned down earlier because Lila can block you, but what if she wasn't consciously trying to?:

Charles understood him immediately and grinned proudly at him.

"Everyone!"

His voice was quiet but held authority and everyone quickly quieted.

"Logan has a wonderful suggestion."

Again, he glared at him, but the professor was not fazed and motioned for him to speak.

He repeated what he said to Xavier. "I was thinking about Cerebro. I know the suggestion was turned down earlier because Lila can block the professor, but what if she wasn't consciously trying to?"

His suggestion was met with blank looks.

Logan sighed in frustration. "Why would Lila purposefully block the professor when she no doubt wants to be found?"

Clint was the first to get it as he jumped out of his seat. "To Cerebro then!" And he rushed out of the room.

They all looked amusedly at each other.

"So who wants to be the one to tell him that it's an 18 hour flight?"

~ Meanwhile, elsewhere ~

Lila sat in a room somewhere inside the compound Not-Loki had teleported them to, staring blankly ahead of her at the cold stone wall. A room that just about amounted to a cell.

After all, what need was there for the comfort of one who was only a weapon and didn't have the power to complain anyway?

As powerless as she presently felt, Lila still held out hope that they would either find her somehow, or that she would be able to look past the pain and resist his commands when it came down to a fight.

It was crucial to hide the fact that she could jut barely resist his command until absolutely necessary, lest he find out and take drastic action to insure she was completely under his control.

As such, she had to otherwise do as commanded without hesitation, no matter how degrading it will probably be.

Just a Lila thought this, she suddenly felt a tugging sensation in her chest as his voice called to her across the bond.

"Come to me little dragon, I have something I want you to do for me..."

Welp, even though I know no-one reads these notes, I feel obligated to explain my exc- I mean reasons for not having written for so long.

I have and am having family, job and health problems for a while now.

My NEW laptop's keyboard is screwed up and it's a real chore to write anything when it's either constantly trying to add strings of s's to everything or the s button is just not working altogether. So, if you see any words that look like they should have an s somewhere in there, and it doesn't, that's why.

Also, truthfully, I contemplated quitting writing altogether as I've felt a distinct lack of imagination and motivation for writing recently. I haven't been able to bring myself to write anything in months, this is the first actually. So yeah...
