"_____, it's time to get up for school!" My mother yells as I groan. I peek my head out from under my pillow to look at my clock and sigh when I see that I'm over an hour late for school. Seriously, what's the point of her waking me up when she's gonna make me late?

I sit up in bed and stretch my arms up, hearing a nice crack sound. Nothing like a good morning shoulder crack too wake up the senses, am I right? Throwing on a pair of jeans and a hoodie, I gargle some mouth wash; I'm too tired and too lazy to brush my teeth this morning. Some might see that as unhygienic, but when you're this tired little things like that don't bother you. It's not like I talk to many people, anyways.

I carefully place my laptop in my messenger bag and trot down the stairs to my awaiting mother holding my lunch out to me in a Wendy's bag.

"Is there actual Wendy's in there, or are you just using that bag to tease me." I say, raising an eyebrow as I take the bag from her. With an exaggerated gasp, my mother puts her hand to her heart.

"What kind of mother do you take me for?" Her posh English accent becomes thicker as she speaks, making me roll my eyes. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

With a hug and some 'I love you's, I walk down the block and around the corner to my local high school. Sometimes I wish I lived farther away so maybe my mother's laziness would kick in and she wouldn't drive me to school. I'd drop out, but what fun is that? I mean, I love staying home and sleeping in, but without something to do on the weekdays, what is there in life? Netflix? Hulu? Video games? Okay, I'm just making dropping out seem more interesting; I should stop. Opening the door to the front office, I smile at the lady at the front desk as she clicks her tongue at me.

"_____, _____, _____, what am I going to do with you?" I shrug and throw my hands in my pockets.

"I dunno, throw me in a volcano? Maybe then I'd get some sleep." She scans my ID and hands me my late pass.

"I'm sure you get enough of sleep already, Ms. _______." I laugh and nod my head.

"Maybe enough for most people, but not for me." I wave to her and we say our goodbye's as I slip through the door and head to my 3rd period class.

I open the door and walk over to my History teacher.

"Late again, Ms. _______? I hope you can catch up with the rest of the class." I nod and hand him my pass, not really in the mood to deal with his crap today. I head to the back and sit next to the other introverts as we do our best to avoid everyone, but mostly each other. It's kinda funny how that works. I tune out Mr. Sekai and look at the garden out back. It's really a sight to see; our AGG program is amazing, and paired with the gardening club? It's like the Garden of Eden out there. I like to name off the different types of plants in my head as I look across. Aphelandra squarrosa, Bryophyllum daigremontianum, Bird of Paradise (My personal favorite), Bauhinia variegate-

"Ms. _______, are you paying attention?"

"Huh? Uh, yeah, I am." Mr. Sekai smirks and points to a question on the board.

"Answer." He demands, and everyone in the class looks back at me. I sigh and read the question.

'During WWII, the Russian government had a group of women that would turn off their planes in midair in order to silently attack enemy camps. What where they nick named?'

Easy as pie. I could really go for some pie . . .

"Well, Ms. _______?" I stand up and shove my hands in my pockets.

"They were called the Night Witches, and I didn't have to pay attention to know that." He glares at me as he wipes the question off the board. He often does that; He'll write a question on the board and leave it there until someone answers it. It can sometimes take weeks, but he still leaves it there. I could easily answer all of them, but I'd hate to be that person. Mainly because I hate those people. Everyone in the room stays silent. The bell rings and the room quickly becomes barren; all the students flowing into the hallway.

I head to my 4th period, kinda wanting to skip. I mean, I have straight A's. I really don't need to be here. I could have graduated two years ago, but like I said before, what fun would that be? A shove and a loud yell startle me.

"_____!!! Where were you?! You and me were supposed to skip 2nd!!" I shrug and scratch the side of my head.

"Sorry, Skyla. My mom let me sleep in I guess. Or she slept in, I really don't know. Honestly, I don't know why I even came today." She pouts and crosses her arms.

"You should always come! Why? Because I'm here!" I laugh at her and pat her head. She's significantly shorter than me, me being 5"8 and her just under 4"0. She has Alexandria's Genesis, which causes pale skin and purple eyes, as well as many other things just as cool. Those are just the noticeable ones. It also causes white hair, but because of another separate condition, her hair is naturally a sky blue. She makes the most of it though, and rocks it. Born in NY, she was raised in an orphanage until she was seven when she was adopted and brought to Florida. She still has that NY accent somehow, but I love it. Everything she says is 10x funnier because of it, and I have no idea why.

"Come on, we have to get to 4th period." She pouts and slings her bag over her shoulder.

"Wouldn't you rather skip? I mean, you did ditch me for 2nd, so . . ." I roll my eyes playfully and crack my fingers.

"If I'm gonna skip, I'm skipping the rest of the day. You in?" Skyla nod enthusiastically.

"Lets go to that new Italian ice place! I hear they got a wicked Mango Blast!"

"You know I'd never turn down food!" We laugh and go through the cafeteria. They have doors that lead outside for the seniors that like to get lunch outside of school. The school is pretty lenient about that, and won't even ask for your ID before leaving. Probably because they don't care.

AN- I know you're probably not going to read this(I know I never do) but I'm gonna leave it hear to make myself feel better.

This chapter is pretty short. I wanted to add more, but I wasn't sure how to segway from where I left it. I don't want to change it either. So I'm gonna pick it up in the next chapter. I know what I'm going to do, or at least the basic story, ya know? I just have to figure out how to get it from here *Points to head* onto here lol. If I'm feeling up to it, it'll be posted tonight. If not, sunday. Or never, you never know. When one has MY mood swings . . . AAAAAAnyway, I hope you enjoyed this first chapter! Don't let the 'only one chapter' thing prevent you from adding this story to your library. I WILL be updating this story and their WILL be more. Toodles!~
