"Please, stay! I need you!" Eun Jung said.
I continued to pack all my stuff and shove them in a cardboard box, not caring if they're folded or not. "Yeah, you need me for money. You need me for pleasure. I'm not up for that shit! I gave you every fucking thing you want, and how do you repay me? With NOTHING." I yelled.
"Oppa, please! I promise! I'll be a better person once we're married!" tears ran down her face.
"What do you mean you'll 'be a better person'? Yeah, fucking right. That's a whole damn lie! You just want my money!" I showed her the engagement ring that was still on my finger. "This ring. This ring means nothing to me." I slid it off my finger and threw it across the room, hearing the clinks on the floor as it fell. "I don't care if this is a forced marriage. I don't care if I'm disobeying what YOUR parents want. I just want to fucking get out of here. I don't want to see you OR your family."
I closed the box and taped it shut.
She grabbed the tape from my hand. "Please don't leave me here. I beg you." she sobbed.
"No matter how much you beg, I'm leaving." I replied.
I left the room with my boxes, but before I could, she grabbed my arm. "Let fucking go of me!" I took my arm back. There was madness on my face. She looked scared. "I hope you have a good life here in America. Find someone who you're true enough to. Don't use them like a toy or a fucking bank."
I went to my car and placed it in the trunk and entered the driver's seat. I turned the key and the engine turned on.
"Stay here, oppa! I don't want to be alone! I have nothing!" she said, muffled through the car window. Her hands were on it and I could see her mascara running and her lipstick smudged.
I glared at her. "Go away." I mouthed.
I stepped on the gas pedal and headed to the airport.
I'm hoping to start a new life back in Seoul, Korea. Back where I lived when I was still with Bangtan.
We all separated a few years ago, wanting to start our own lives. Our own careers. It was a heartbreaking separation. We did it through a concert.
I remember Jungkook saying, "I will truly remember the many, many years we've been together. But ARMY, it's now our time to say goodbye."
We were all sobbing. So was ARMY. The whole stadium was filled with crying and sadness. But they were happy, too. They saw how far we've come. They saw us evolve. From this small group of fans that would come to our performances for free, to a whole stadium, fitting 80,000 people. Every concert being sold out. It was surreal to us.
Ever since 2013. Even before pre-debut days, we never thought we would grow that big. It's crazy knowing that people, not only from Korea, but from everywhere else in the world also knew us.
But, honestly, that last concert. It was full of sadness and happiness.
Before we left that stage, we made ARMY chant our names one more time...
"ARMY! O-One more time. Before we part ways." Suga said, wiping tears from his eyes.
"Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook, BTS!" ARMY shouted.
Voices were shaky, voices were sobbing. The whole front row of the crowd were all crying. I could see ARMYs wiping their tears with their sleeves and shirts. I didn't want to leave the stage.
We didn't want to leave the stage.
I saw Jimin. On the ground, sobbing into his palms.
Taehyung, listening to the last chants of ARMY while crying.
Jin and Hoseok comforting each other as they cried together.
Yoongi smiling through his tears.
Jungkook trying to hold his tears in in.
Me, Kim Namjoon, crying a whole river.
It was uncontrollable. I couldn't stop it.
We headed to the lowering platform.
"I'm Kim Namjoon."
"I'm Kim Seokjin."
"I'm Min Yoongi."
"I'm Jung Hoseok."
"I'm Park Jimin."
"I'm Kim Taehyung."
"I'm Jeon Jungkook."
"A-And we're..." my voice cracked.
"BTS." we sobbed.
The stage started to lower. So many ARMYs were crying. It hurt.
We all went in for a last group hug as the stage lowered.
I looked back up,
ARMY was gone.
It was a sad day. It was a hard decision to make. But we had to. ARMY understood. They understood that we will continue on with our own lives knowing that we still love ARMY.
We did have our own lives. Taehyung moved to Europe to become a saxophonist. Hoseok and Yoongi stayed in Korea to become solo rappers. Jimin and Jungkook stayed also in Korea. Jimin became a dancer and a singer and has his own concerts. Jungkook also became a solo singer. He's bigger than we've imagined.
They're all bigger than we've imagined.
I moved to America. That's where I met Eun Jung. Thankfully, I'm leaving. To come back home.
To come back to Korea.
That is where I'll start over.
