Chapter one
My name is Olivia Forbes I'm nineteen years old and I'm from from New Orleans well I used to be Me and my brother Sean moved here to the state of Georgia three months ago when my mom and dad were killed in a bank robbery. So technically we are orphans but we have our Aunt Susan she took us in she's been so sweet she tries her best to care for us but my brother isn't making it easy for her he gets high all the time, doesn't come home until the next day, sleeps with every girl he sees he's been arrested 9 times since we moved here but he still hasn't learned his lesson Susan thinks it's a phase but really he is just trying to recover from my mom and dad's death. This summer has felt like 1 year instead of 3 months in that three months I've applied for 4 university's I was turned down three times but thankfully Georgia State University accepted me. Unlike my brother I decide to bury my sorrows in things like Binge shopping,A whole new make-over and losing a lot of weight really it sounds stupid but that's how I deal with my grief.
"Seriously Sean stop doing this crap you've been at it all summer and I'm sick of it!" I am woken up by my Aunts loud shouting it's been like this all summer I'm actually getting used to the routine. Tomorrow I will be leaving for college at GSU I don't know what to feel about it excited,Nervous,petrified my emotions are all over the place at the minute. I force myself out of bed after lying looking at the ceiling for the past 45 minutes I pick out a pair of washed out denim shorts and a pink tank top it's scorching here in Georgia at the minute I lay the clothes on my bed and drag myself to the bathroom. I press the power on button on the shower and feel the tenseness of my body wash down the drain the warm sprinkle of the shower feels so good I could just stand here like this all day. Once out I wrap the warm towel around me and and walk back to my room I stop dead in my tracks when I see the state of my brother
"What the fuck Sean!" I shout his eyes are bloodshot his lips are busted and he is high as the moon "Hey sissy wassup," his speech is slurred and he's also pissed "Look at the state of you,Your a mess," He is lying on the ground like a flipping two year old "Get up now!" I demand I pull him up and lead him into his room there are empty beer cans everywhere and expensive bottles of liquor lying around "Where do you get the money to pay for this shit?" To be honest I don't want to know but I have to get some answers out of him "Oh I stole a few bottles of dad's best Bourbon before we left New Orleans it's good stuff you should try some," He laughs I am really not in the mood to be laughing right now I shake my head at him and storm out slamming his door behind me.
I get changed and braid my hair walking downstairs I hear muffled sobs coming from the kitchen I enter to see my Aunt Susan crying into her boyfriend Jamie's chest I can't help but feel disgusted with my brother making Susan feel like this. " Hey sweety sorry I haven't breakfast made this morning," she sobs and tries to force a smile " I could make something if you are hungry," she insists she really is too nice "I'm fine Susan don't worry," I smile at her "Actually I think I'm gonna go do some last minute shopping today just some last things for my dorm I'll probably need them,If that's okay with you or do you need me here to help you with Sean?" I ask I don't think she will really need my help she has Jamie he is alway here for her "It's okay sweety go on get yourself some last minute essentials I'm sure I can cope for a couple of hours,"
Pulling up at target there is a bold sign on the window saying 50% off all living essentials perfect today is my day well sort off. I pick up a few decorative pillows and and decide to treat myself to a new purse I pick some things like a pencil pot,pens,pencils and all the basic stationary "Afternoon Ma'am beautiful day outside don't ya think?" Asks the check out guy when I go to pay "Yeah lovely," I smile "okay so that would be 26 dollars and 34 cent please," cheaper than I thought I pay the money and make my way out " Damnnnnnn... Check out sexy ass over here," whistles some boy outside gosh what a pervert "where you think your going hot stuff?" I walk faster trying to ignore him I throw my shopping into my trunk and climb into my car I can still see the boy who was checking me out smirking as I drive away what goes on inside boys heads?

I thought this day would never end I'm exhausted I set my alarm for 6:30 and drift off to sleep as my worries disappear into dreams.
