The sun spilled in through the large stain glass window. Bright colors erupted from it and lit up the beautiful depiction of an angel descending from the heavens. I focused on the dust particles floating through the beams of fiery light as pastor Eric read various biblical versus based on today's preaching. I've always found Sunday mass boring, not unlike most teenagers. I would much rather sleep in until noon dreaming of Channing Tatum's perfectly chiseled body, than spend my entire morning listening to our pastor drone on and on about things I have no interest or belief in. I mean, I'm not an Atheist. But I'm not a strong headed Lutheran like both of my parents are, and I would rather spend my life worrying about myself and the people around me, rather than some holy figure that may not even exist.

I sighed, rubbing my heavy eyelids as I tore my gaze away from the stain glass window, and back towards pastor Eric. I strained my eyes to force my attention towards him for a few brief seconds, before my brother's light snoring snapped me out of my determined stare. I glanced at his scruffy hair that was messily gelled and styled in a greasy up do and I cringed in disgust as a drop of drool rolled down his chin and onto his maroon tie.

"Asher" I whispered, gently bumping my knee into his in attempt to wake him from his light slumber. I furrowed my eyebrows as he slightly opened his eyes, but then let them fall again as he slowly tipped towards my body. His hard frame fell onto my shoulder and my frail arm was awkwardly trapped behind his back. "Asher!" I whispered annoyed. I tried to shrug him off, but it only resulted in him flopping onto my lap. I felt his drool puddle onto my daisy printed dress as I proceeded to flick the back of his neck, shaking him violently with my legs as I struggled to wake up. "Asher! For fucks sake!" I whispered harshly as I attempted to bite back more foul words before they could ripple out of my mouth. I tilted my head sideways to peer at my parents, and luckily they were so absorbed in pastor Eric's teachings that they didn't notice Asher's rude behavior. "Asher, I swear to god if you-" I was cut off as everyone stood from their seats and began filing out. Mass already ended? "Asher-" I was once again cut off by my older brother picking up his head, rubbing his eyes and swiping away his drool before anyone could notice that he was napping in church. I rolled my eyes, of course.

"Oh, hey Luna" he sleepily mumbled as we rose from our seats as well, following the crowd out of the back door. I ignored him and proceeded to slip in next to my parents as they talked to pastor Eric.

"-means a lot to us. Have a great Sunday Eric." my father finished as I pulled up next to him. Pastor Eric smiled and nodded as we were brisked away from the entrance and out of the church. Asher scurried to catch up and lazily draped his arm around my shoulder as he dragged me over to a crowd of girls from our high school.

        "Asher, what are you-"

"Hey ladies!" Asher greeted the group of junior girls who giggled in reply. I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest as he tugged me slightly in front of him, displaying me to the other girls. "This is my little sister Luna, shes going to be a sophomore next year" he introduced me as they all waved and greeted me. I huffed and rolled my eyes for the second time that day. Basic Asher, trying to pick up girls by using me to make him look like a softie. I zoned out of their pointless flirting and I was soon brushed aside by the catty girls who were fighting for Asher's attention. I looked over towards my parents who were absorbed in a conversation with some old guy. I wandered over towards them and lightly tapped my mother's shoulder.

        "Hey mom.." I muttered nervously.

"Oh! Hi Luna. Mr. McCann, this is Luna, my daughter. Say hi to Mr. McCann Luna" my mothered ordered. I put on my best fake smile and shook the mans hand as I realized that he was my father's boss.
