I woke up in my room on the helicarrier. I had a pounding headache. it felt like some one smacked me in the head with a hammer... oh wait that's exactly what happened.
Reluctantly, I got up and walked to the bathroom. I looked a mess. I dragged my hair brush through my hair and got a quick shower. The hot water against my skin eased the pain a bit.
I stepped out of the shower and dried myself off with fire, setting my body alight to evaporate the water. I pulled on some black leggings and a cream jumper. I pulled my hair into a side braid and slipped on my black converse and was about to head out to the lab when there was a knock on my door.
I pulled the door open to find Steve, wearing casual clothes as well.
"Hey, Steph. How you feeling?" he asked politely.
"I could be better. How 'bout you?" I asked, curious of what happened after I passed out.
"I'm fine. Can I come in? I need to talk to you." he asked. He seemed nervous for some reason. Did I really look that bad?
"Uh, yeah. Is something wrong?" I asked, slightly concerned.
"No, no. I just- I wanted to-"
"Why don't you come sit down. then you can tell me what you wanted to say." I said. he blushed slightly and did what I said. We were now both sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Stephanie, look, I- well, seeing you unconscious, made me worry and I-"
I cut him off there.
"Steve you don't have to worry about me, I'm not a child."
"I know, it's just that, I realised I-" he started, but was cut off by Tony opening the door.
"Stephanie, you're needed in the lab." Tony stated.
"Ok," I replied.
"Hold that thought?" I told Steve.
He nodded. I stood up and followed Tony to lab. Steve followed behind.
When we came to the lab, Bruce and Tony gave me accusing glares as I walked in.
"What?" I asked.
"It seems you've been hiding something from us, Stephanie. Or should I say, Giga Flame!?" Tony said.
"What are you talking about!?" I said loudly. I should've known my secret identity would've come out sooner or later. I am surrounded by geniuses after all.
"You know exactly what we're talking about, Steph." Bruce countered.
Tony flipped a screen around and showed a file on Giga flame. It showed me, at age 16, fighting crime with my powers. That lasted about 4 years. I haven't actually used my powers for anything useful since then. I trained theme in case anything came up, where I needed to use them. But I did it in private, so no one would know.
"Why didn't you tell us Steph? that could've been useful when we were getting our butts kicked by Loki!" Steve added, sounding defensive.
I could feel tears building up in my eyes. I felt terrible. I lied to my team and now they probably hate me for it.
"I-I'm sorry, I-" I stuttered out before the tears came. I didn't want to cry in front of anyone, it made me appear weak, so I ran out of the room before the tears could fall.
Steve's POV
Stephanie ran out of the room. I can't believe she had powers. But most of all, I can't believe she didn't tell anyone.
