Cassie's POV
Sitting at the Diner waiting for Chloe after almost 2 weeks of no contact with my best friend has been nothing but torture.
I ordered myself a cup of coffee just to kill time, she's never on time. It's the first time I'm seeing her this year apparently she's in college so I understand she barely gets time, well we both don't really have time, to speak the truth.
"Heyeee" she yells indicating she's finally here
"Hi, finally she's here" I stand up giving her a big hug
She looks beautiful as always she sits down and starts "so why are you hiding from me?"
"I haven't been hiding, I guess we've just been busy Chloe come on you haven't been around either"
"Phew yeah hey, sorry about that guess we are both at fault, anyways how have you been 2weeks without communication its a lot for us I mean hello, come to think of it we have never gone a day without talking"
"I know, sorry for not being there its just lately I've been under a lot of stress with mom not understanding my reason for taking a gap year before college next year" I say trying to ease the conversation
"Okay yeah hey, I see. So now she's okay with it?"
"Not entirely but she's accepted that I've made a decision which I think is best for me at the moment"
"Alright, umh Cass look whatever you do I fully support you 100% I'm your friend, best friend if I should say so myself and I don't want you to feel as if you can't call me because of Shaun I'm really okay and Shaun is a cool guy I love you and we've been together since like forever let's not break that now, cause I can tell girl you drifting away from me and I don't like it"
"Thank you , it's just..." As I try to speak I feel a little dizzy
I don't know what's been happening but these past few weeks I've been feeling a little light headed every now and then.
"What's wrong, are you okay?"
Chloe asks standing up coming to my side and motioning the waitress for a glass of water
"I'm fine, I've been really busy lately I haven't been eating properly I think that's why"
The waitress comes back with a glass of water and she asks if I need anything else Chloe asks her to bring us two chicken cheese burgers and cream sodas.
"Now you need to drink this, and you are going to eat I'll make sure you leave with a full stomach today"
"Yes mom" I say jokingly
"So how long have you been this way to be exact?"
"Just a couple of weeks"
"Oh no man, I'm so sorry I haven't been around friend"
The burgers come and we eat in silence I try to keep it down and I manage Thankfully and we talk about Chloe's classes, my job, my apartment hunting since I'm trying to claim my life back I need to move out from home.
"So in two weeks its your eighteenth birthday and we are going clubbing but you haven't found an apartment babe we can't really celebrate at your mom's house you know"
"I know and no I haven't thought about the party, I don't really know when I'll be able to afford the apartment to be exact maybe next month or the following but the sooner would have been perfect I've just started a new job I'm still trying to..."
"No no no, we are having a celebration at least just us like old times it would be nice, please Cass I miss us and the fun we used to have back then"
"Fine, Just us." I say giving in
"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I love you Cass!" Chloe comes closer to give me a big hug
I've missed my friend, I really did and now that we have talked I hope things would go back to normal.
