Chapter 6

The university we'll both attending is just within Seoul city. Dawn was to live with her parents while I will be staying in dorms with the other students involved in the program. I unpacked my luggage and organize them. My roommate went inside and we acknowledged each other's presence with a smile. In one room there are two persons who will be sharing. The room is not that small and not too big either. It's just right for 2-3 person but since there are cabinets and desks only 2 beds could fit inside. "Ace, Tiana, you two got 30 minutes to go downstairs. There will be an orientation to the new ones." Our teacher-in-charge, Ms. Levi told us. "Yes miss." We both responded. So far, I'm the only one who doesn't know anyone in my peers. Our university sents the four of us as representatives for the first batch. They came here in Korea together and I'm the only one who got separated from them.

We continued on organizing our things. All you can hear are clattering of things and the sound of zippers being opened and closed. Awkward silence? I bit my lip and silently sighed. I want to introduce myself and get to know her since we will be staying in the same room. I looked over to my shoulders to see what she's doing and she seemed too engrossed on it. Maybe later... I finished organizing my things. Checked my wristwatch and we still have five more minutes left. I blew a breath and see my work. A smile of satisfaction formed into my lips. My roommate tapped my shoulders and I turn to see her smiling. "I'm Thatiana Wales, just call me Tiana." and she offers her hand for me to shake it. I smiled back and shook it. "Ayze Guzman just Ace." We let go and talk about some stuff while going out into our room.

She's an Accounting student and a top on the Dean's list. Wow! She really is brainy. She also told me that she also listens to Kpop but she's not a fan. She told me about the other two students' names and backgrounds. The other girl is Meliessa. She's an HRM student together with Sky the only guy in our group. When we arrived at the lobby hall of the dormitory where the orientation will be held, there are already other Foreign exchange students in other universities that we're going to be with. A girl waved at our way. I guess that's Meliessa. Me and Tiana came and sat with her. Beside her is a guy that looks grumpy. That's sky? His expression doesn't match his name at the moment. A silly thought passed on my mind. Maybe there's a storm in the sky. I cringe at that thought. Ayze you're being ridiculous.

"By the way guys this is Ace. Ace, this is Meliessa and Sky." Tiana introduced me to them. We shook hands and greeted each other. Well, Sky just gave me a nod though. Tss! Jerk. "What's your course Ace?" Meliessa asked. "Tourism Management, 2nd-year college." Sky took a short glance towards me. My forehead creased in wonder. What's that glance for? "Really? Sky's a 2nd year too. So that means Tiana and I are the old ones." He's the same year as I am? I eyed him carefully. He doesn't seem like a 2nd-year college to me. He's more of a 4th-year college base on his physique. Tiana and Meliessa are in their 3rd year they were once blockmates but weren't that close but now the both of them were so talkative as if they know each other since birth. I was just listening to their chats and speak if my opinion was asked. I secretly took a glance at Sky who was folding his arms to his chest and eyes were shut. Is he sleeping? I tilt my head to the sides to have a better view but in an instant he opens his eyes and looked at me. My eyes widen in surprise and avoided eye contact. I can feel my cheeks burning. I'm blushing? Am I blushing?

I bit my lip and cupped my face. It's so warm... "Ace, are you okay?" Meliessa worriedly asked. Tiana also repeats Meliessa's question. I just nodded in response while my hands are still cupping my face. It's the first time that I felt my cheeks burning. Tiana's eyebrows furrowed. She's not convinced about my answer. I smiled at her and to Meliessa. "I'm okay,really," I said and removes my hand in cupping my face. I secretly gazed at Sky but then avoids it again. He's still looking at me as if amazed? I don't know. He looks like he was enjoying it.
