"When my carriage hit you, I was concerned but I just thought it was another woman trying to get my attention. Then I heard what you did to Katia, you saved her life. So I brought you here to heal your wounds and protect you. No one should live on the streets, it's not right. The people of Pembroke had financial issues that caused selfishness to enclose them. The damage caused to you resulted in such a shock which is why you ended up comatose. You've been out for about four and a half weeks. Throughout the time I and a nice maid called Stephanie have been looking after you. Stephanie is indisposed at the moment but rests assured you will see her soon enough. She will be your maid once she is available to do so and she'll be able to care for you whilst I'm not around. The wounds on your back have healed nicely but there are still scars which will take longer to heal rest assured they will get better but I'm afraid that they will not fully heal. I'm sorry." He explains what's happened in the past month while being unconscious. It was kind of weird that he had been here the whole time, sitting next to me. He watched me sleep for four and a half weeks. Why would a Lord care for a commoner?
It was strange being cared for. Opposite of the dream where I was completely ignored. It was such a contrast but I'm glad for this new reality or maybe this too was a dream. The actual dream though? It felt so real as if it had happened. I think I need to have a look around. It's weird that this room, that I have never seen before in my whole life, was magically in my dream or should I say nightmare.
Every single little detail was there in that dream but how was it possible? I have never been here before. I've always lived in the streets.
The blonde-haired woman was so innocent and frightened. She didn't deserve any pain, especially being bullied the way she was. To top it all off, she was pushed down the stairs. It concerned me that because this room is real then maybe the incidents that happened aren't a dream but real too. I just hope that whoever the woman was isn't real and that she didn't get hurt.
"What woman?" Lord Vera asked. I gasped. Could he read minds? Oh gosh, he shouldn't be as I've got some thoughts I want to keep to myself. Or maybe I said it out loud. I do tend to do that. Should I tell him? Maybe he will think of me as a crazy woman who recognises a room that she's never entered in a dream. Then again he might be able to help me find out who the woman is.
"It was in my dream. I woke up in this room, which was strange because I don't know how I could have dreamed of this room as I'd never entered it before. Anyway, I was walking along the corridor and I saw two women with maid uniforms on. A blonde-haired woman and a red-haired woman. The red-haired woman was bullying the blonde-haired woman. Kicking, punching, strangling. She kept going on about how the blonde was sucking up to her master and that only she could have him. That's why she applied for the maid, to be with her master and that the blonde-haired woman should have been fired a long time ago. Then the red-haired woman continues to attack the other until it was too late. I couldn't stop any of it from happening either, it's like I was paralysed and when I did finally move, my arm went right through them like I was a ghost witnessing a scene. No one was around, it was like a pin drop silence surrounding the two women until they started speaking." He looked at me shocked. He stood up slightly and moved to the chair next to the bed. He had been on the bed and sat next to me this whole time but now that he's moved it felt uncomfortable. It was like
I was used to him being on the bed next to me.Does he believe me? Oh gosh, I hope he does because it's the whole truth. It sounds like I'm completely insane. He just looked angry. Is that my fault? Maybe I should just go. That might be best. I stood up, my body aching in protest and at one point I almost fell back onto the bed. As I finally got my bearing, I prepared to leave the room but he instantly grabbed my wrist as soon as my other hand touched the doorknob. It wasn't tight but it did its purpose. Stopped me instantly. After a while, I stayed standing and eventually he walked around so that he was between me and the door.
