"See Sadie," Liam chuckled walking backwards into the diner. He held the door open so they all could walk inside. "I told you I was still the best."

Sadie walked past him smiling and rolling her eyes.

"I beat you even when you played for your boyfriend."

"Fine. I admit it, Liam. You're good."

They all found a table. Charlotte slipped into the end of the booth and Liam jokingly scooched her over and sat beside her. She giggled.

Sadie sat beside her and Mason followed, then Poppy and Fisher slipped into the seat.

"I love this song," Poppy smiled at him.

"Oh my goodness. Me too," Sadie stretched her hand and touched Poppy's arm.

Mason squinted and her knowing she was lying. He looked at Charlotte.

Charlotte raised her brows at him.

Sadie sat back. "So, what do you guys want to order?"

They looked at the three menus on the table.

Poppy's phone began to buzz. She quickly shoved her hand in her pocket and took it out. "It's my mom. It's past curfew." She looked at Fisher. "I have to go."

"Aww, what?" Sadie sighed. "Just ignore her. Stay another hour. It's just ten o' clock."

"There's no one home tonight," Poppy shrugged. "I have to go."

Fisher put the menu down.

"You can stay," Poppy smiled at him. "I know you wanted to try the dessert here."

"I wanted to try it with you," he frowned.

"Aww," Charlotte tilted her head.

Poppy grinned then she kissed Fisher's cheek. "Send me pictures of your food, okay?"

"Sure," he frowned.

"Liam? Can you take me home?"

Charlotte looked away trying to hide her glum.

Poppy noticed. "Or...maybe Sadie?"

"Sorry, love," Sadie shook her head. "I'm staying."

Mason shook his head. "I'll just...take her. I have to get my mom's car home by eleven anyway."

"Mason," Sadie said bluntly, glaring at him.

He ignored her. "Let's go Poppy."

They both stood.

Sadie's jaw almost dropped. "How am I getting home?"

"Liam's got his car," Mason shrugged refusing to look at her.

He and Poppy walked out from the booth.

"I'll call you later," Poppy touched Fisher's shoulder. "Bye guys."

"Bye," they all waved but Sadie frowned. She looked at Charlotte.

Charlotte was trying not to smile.

Sadie grabbed her menu and moved over to Fisher, sitting next to him. "Since we're on dates and ours just left. I guess we can just be a couple for tonight, right?"

Fisher glared at her.

She suddenly lifted her phone. "Selfie."

Poppy sat in Mason's car staring out the window. They sat in silence until Mason leaned over and opened the glove compartment in front of Poppy.

"Here," he handed her a CD.

She looked at it. It was the album of the artist they had listened to in the diner. She turned to him. "Is this Sadie's?"

"No," he continued to drive. "It's mine. I like that song too."

Poppy smirked. "Really?"

"Yeah. Sadie hated it. She was the one who made me put it away. She said she hated this kind of music."

"Well, I'm not surprised you like it. We've always had similar taste in music."

"You can put it in."

Poppy raised her brows.

"The player," Mason chuckled. "You can put the CD in the player."

Poppy giggled. "I knew that." She put the CD in the player. The song began to play.

Mason slowly nodded his head.

Poppy smiled at him, then she started to sing softly.

The song played for a bit then they both began to sing along loudly.

Poppy started dancing and Mason looked at her and smiled. She looked happy.

"Poppy," he turned the music down.

She looked at him running her hand through her hair. "Yeah?"

"Why did we stop being friends?"

Poppy smirked. "I don't know," she lied.

Mason reached over and held her hand.

Poppy furrowed her brows.

"This is why."
