"Hey Chels! Wait up!" My best friend, Alejandra Castillo, came running down the hallway nearly crashing into me. She was dressed in Delake Christian Academy's uniform; a white button down shirt, a maroon vest with the emblem (the Cross surrounded by a lake) on the upper left shoulder, and a black skirt. She looked liked she was going to burst with excitement.

"Ally," I say putting a hand on her shoulder trying to calm her down, "calm down."

"I AM CALM!" She says and I shake my head smiling.

"What's going on Ally?" I ask because I know now that she will burst if she didn't get the news out soon.

She takes in a deep breath before speaking, "There's a new guy at registration and he's super hot!"

I laugh, "That's the big news?"

"Uh- duh," she rolls her eyes, "I swear Chels sometimes you just kill the mood."

I laugh again. Ally was always the one that was boy crazy, she drolled over every teen pop sensation that came up in magazines. But as for me I never had time to think about boys. In fact that's what my ex-boyfriend, Ethan Grost, told me. "I like you Chels, but you never have time for me," he said when he broke up with me a week ago. I was completely crushed by that statement, but I knew he was right; I had AP classes, college applications, basketball practice, debate team, student council, during the week; and youth group, chior practice, and basketball games during the weekends. "Alright Ally," I tell her, "tell me about him!" I fake enthusiasim.

She bought the act and her eyes brightened, "Okay," she leads me to a bench near the main fountain. We put down our back packs and take a seat next to eachother. "Kay so, you know how we're getting a new sheriff. Sheriff Stevens right?" I nodded. "Well he has a son and that's the new kid. His name is Zachary. I think he goes by Zach but anyway, Lori saw him like five minutes ago and told me that he is so hot!"

"Well what does he look like!?" I ask, again faking my enthusiasm.

"I don't know actually, but I'm taking Lori's word for it. She told me he pulled up in a motorcycle! I don't think he's the typical DCA student."

"Ohhh a motorcycle! How exciting! Like I haven't seen one before," I say with sarcasm. My dad owned the town's only auto repair shop, so we both knew I've seen my fair share of all sorts of vehicles. She punched me in shoulder. "Ow! What in the world Ally!?"

"Can you at least pretend to happy with me!?" She rolled her eyes, gathered her stuff and stood. "I'm gonna head to home room now. See ya at lunch!" She waves back at me as she walks off.

I stood got my things together and headed in the opposite direction. I walked all of two inches before walking right into someone and drop everything onto the ground. "I'm so sorry!" I say as I crouch down to gather my things. The guy I bumped into bends down to help he reaches for my history text book and his sleeve inches back to reveal a part of a tattoo on his inner wrist that I can't quite make out. My eyes widen tattoos were definetly not part of the DCA dress code.

He laughs, "So this is the kind of welcome I get on the first day?" Oh so he's the new guy. "I'm Zach," he says after we picked everything up he helps me to my feet, "I'm the new sheriff's son."

I smile polietly and get a good look at him. Okay so, Lori was completely right! He was definetly attarctive. He had a strong square jaw, bright green eyes that contrasted his nice tanned skin and his short, spiked chocolate brown hair. He had a good build to him too, lean but you could tell he was pretty athletic. He wasn't in DCA uniform yet, he had dark jeans, a white undershirt, and a black leather jacket. "Hey," I say still smiling, "I'm Chelsea- Rose, you can just call me Chelsea though or Rose. Ha, I don't really care." Am I seriously rambling?
