Cami had been avoiding Ashton all week, and since she practically lived at my house, easy along with it, I had to avoid Luke. I didn't want to make Luke feel like he did anything wrong, though, so I did text him and stuff.

While eating pretzels watching Adventure Time, we heard a ring of the doorbell.

"Oh, Jesus, is that Ashton?" Cami asked.

"I don't know. If so, tell him what's going on. I'm sure he'll take care of Brett for you," I open the door and Calum, Michael, and Ashton all come running in. Luke walks in and hugs me.

"Hey, gorgeous," he says.

"Hey handsome," I get on my tiptoes to peck him on the lips.

"I've missed you, it's been a while," he said.

"I missed you, too," I leaned on his shoulder.

He tilted my chin up and I got on my tiptoes. Gently, we pressed our lips together. Quickly, more energy came in our kissing, as it became a bit more rough. He slipped his tongue in and I released into the kiss, but then realized we're probably putting on a show for Ash and Cami.

"Luke," I nodded toward them, "we'll finish some other time," I winked.

"Cami," I walk into the living room, "Did you tell him?"

"Yes," Ashton said, "I can't believe that asswipe. Hitting on my girl after breaking her heart."

I laughed. Luke was standing right next to me. I intertwined my fingers with his.

Brett reminded me of a less intense version of an ex-boyfriend of mine. It made me shudder just at the thought. I felt myself grow pale.

"Something wrong, babe?" Luke said.

"Uhh, can we go on a walk?" I asked.

Luke looked at me questioningly and hesitantly agreed. We walk outside.

"Raine...." He said, looking at my pale face.

"Raine...." He repeated after no response, "what's going on?"

"Luke, promise you won't hurt me?" I blurted out, feeling my eyes well up with tears.

"Of course, what's going on?" He said, rubbing my back soothingly.

"I....I need to tell you something," I sighed, tears coming out of my eyes, "Ab-bout me."

"Shh..darling, what's wrong?"

"I'm afraid," I said, "Before Darren, I dated a guy who cheated on me twice and hit me because I wouldn't give him sex. I know you're a good guy, but I thought he was too and it caused me to hurt myself. Luke..."

He cut me off by pecking my lips. "Don't worry, babe. I will never hurt you."

And we made out right there on the driveway.
