Kat and Lila sat on the grass, waiting anxiously for The Doctor. Kat was holding Lila in her arms, staring sadly at the bullet wounds, bleeding profusely.
The Doctor dashed out the door, newly blonde hair in his face and brown eyes filled with a strange look. He ran to the two girls, looking down at them.
"Help," Kat murmured, trying to stop the bleeding. She was eerily still, her eyes not leaving the blood trickling down Lila's body onto her hands. The gun was sitting beside them.
The Doctor let out a small gasp, eyes wide, mouth slightly agape, hand over his mouth.
"Help," Kat repeated, her lip quivering.
He knelt down beside Lila, gently laying a hand on her cheek.
Kat looked up to him, her eyes brimmed with tears. She buried her head on his shoulders.
"H-help me,"
He put his arms around her, setting his head on top of hers.
"Just... gotta have some... stereotypical magic, eh?" He suggested, smiling slightly.
Kat pulled away and looked at him stupidly.
"What?"
"Disney Prince, be a Disney Prince, kiddo." Kat looked at Lila and back to him.
"I like this face." She smiled and crawled over to Lila, closing her eyes and leaning in. Their lips met, and Kat hoped anything would work. She sat back, staring at her for a long while.
She looked back at The Doctor, mouth in a straight line.
The Doctor was watching Lila intently, waiting for an outcome.
"It won't work."
"Just wait," he said softly, not taking his eyes away.
"It won't work," Kat crossed her arms, turning away.
"Kat," the Doctor called, turning to face her.
"What?" She snapped.
"Everything will be alright," the Doctor sang, quoting The Killers.
Kat closed her eyes in agitation. "I'm going home." She started to stand to leave.
"Kat-" the Doctor started, concern filling his eyes as he tried to grab a hold of her hand.
She ripped her hand away, starting to walk away. "I don't blame you."
"Kat, get back here," he tried.
"I said I'm going home."
He stayed silent. Kat left, The Doctor watched her go. His direction turned to Lila when a sliver of black glow began to engulf both figures. It enveloped Lila's body, getting thicker where the bullets penetrated her skin. The glowing smoke began to fade, and Lila was left lying on the ground, groggily waking.
"Kat!" The Doctor yelled, running after her. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back to Lila.
"What do you wa-" She stopped mid sentence, staring blankly at Lila. She wrapped her arms around her, picking Lila up and refusing to let go.
The Doctor smiled.
Kat hoisted Lila onto her back, starting off towards her apartment.
"Come on, old man, you have some stories to tell." Kat called back to The Doctor.
He ran after her.
