She knew he wasn't doing this just for her body that night when he told he'd see her on Monday.

He knew she'd soon be wrapped around his finger with just a little more effort to control her. It was so much easier for him to dump other girls in the streets right after he broke them.

Diana doesn't mind falling in love because nearly no one can tempt her that exceedingly. Except maybe two people so far. She doesn't fall in love with everyone easily, it's only easy to her when it's someone compelling.

Billy on the other hand has never fallen in love with anyone, no matter the amount of girls he's hooked up with. He is the equivalent to a dead soul. Billy doesn't know what heartbreak feels like. All he knows is that Diana can just fucking blink and his heart would feel heavier.

But his pride just won't let that happen.

Monday

What made me regret everything was when I came home at two in the the morning Saturday night to find Dustin passed out on the couch, waiting for me to come home.

Truth is, I let my guard down that night. I've never let anyone do (that to) me so easily and if the asshole ever uses shit like this against me like that I will be the one to pull the trigger.

I had gotten out of my clothes that night into pajamas and joined Dustin next to the couch, on the floor to sleep. I couldn't bear the thought of him going out of his way to wait for me.

So it now being the beginning of another boring week, I slipped on some light-washed jeans and a grey crewneck with my white converse. No one dares to say shit about me repeating an outfit anyway.

"Alright, go knock 'em dead Dust. You always do," I give Dustin encouraging words because it's science fair week at Hawkins Middle. He smiles genuinely at me for the first time in a long while before gripping his backpack and board, shuttling my car door after.

Retrieving my backpack, I realize I can see more clearly today..and I don't need coffee today. Maybe it's because I ditched all my homework this weekend and went straight to bed at 6pm yesterday.

Stepping out of my mustang, I swing my keys around with my fingers while closing the car door with my other hand. Sliding the keys in my pocket, I make my way down to Steve's car, only to find him violently shoving his notebook into his backpack at the hood of his car.

"Easy there, Steve. Don't take it out on your backpack now," I start, my voice sounding full and clear like it used to be.

"This cheerleader just asked me to the Christmas Bash Dance but it somehow ended up to me finding out there's a test in reading today!"

Chuckling at his actions I press on, "Well did you say yes?"

"Did you not just listen to what I said? There's. A. Test!!" He says a little too worriedly.
