13: Good To Be Home

I took a shower after Logan left, just like I said. I slipped off my pajamas and hopped into the stream of hot water. I washed my hair and body, shaved my legs, and then I quickly got out of the warm heavenliness. I wrapped a white fluffy towel around my body. I looked in the mirror, and brushed my hair. I really need to get it cut. Maybe a different color? I decide to think about it later.

I walk into the suite's bedroom, and select an outfit. I pick out a black skater skirt, a short sleeved red crop top with a low back, my blac and white low top converse, and a white Indian Larry Motorcycles cap. I walk back into the bathroom and plug in my straightener. Once the straightener is heated, I straighten my hip length hair, and style my side bangs. I slip my hat on backwards and pull my bangs out, so they aren't hidden under the cap.

I take out my makeup bag that I hid under the sink. I put on some BB cream, powder, winged eyeliner, and I fix my eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil. I don't put on any blush or bronzer, because I have pretty rosy cheeks as it is.

After I'm ready, I pack up all the clothes in the closet and grab my clean clothes from the dryer. I pack them all back into my suitcase. I also grab my shoes and put them in the shoe part of the suitcase. I walk into the bathroom one last time and grab all my bathroom necessities I brought, and I put them in my suitcase as well.

When I finish packing everything, all I have left is my Penny board. I set beside my suitcase. I didn't really get to use it on this trip, but I remind myself that I need to when I get home.

I pick up my phone from beside my bed, and I check the time. 11:32 am. 28 minutes till Nicole and I leave for Los Angeles. 28 minutes till I leave Sacramento. 28 minutes till I leave Logan. I grab my suitcase and put it beside the door. I sit down on the couch for one last time, running my fingers over the plush seating.

I still remeber from last night when Logan was sleeping here. His sexy touselled brown hair, his peacefullness, and me "tucking" him in.

"Goodbye Logan," I say.

I get up, grab my suitcase, and walk out the door to Nicole's suite next door.

I set down my Penny board

Knock

Knock

Knock

Nicole answers seconds later.

"Are you ready?" I ask, suitcase and Penny board in hand.

"As ready as I'll ever be," she says stepping out of her suite with her suitcase.

"Okay then," I say, "lets go."

We walk together, but Nicole stops at the elevator. She presses the button.

"U-Um," I stutter, "I don't think I'm ready to get on an elevator still."

"Okay," Nicole says, "Let me just grab my stu-"

The elevator closes.

At least she didn't leave me alone beside an elevator. (note my sarcasm)

I look around the hallway and locate the stairs. This is going to be a pain in the butt having to walk down the 18 flights of stairs with a large suitcase. Great.

As I walk down each flight of stairs, I make sure count them. So far I'm at 14. 4 more to go.

Finally.

I open the door that (thank God) leads to the lobby. Nicole is waiting in one of the seats beside the front desk.

"Tara I'm so so sorry. The elevator closed before I could exit," she says.

"It's okay. It wasn't your fault. It was the evil elevator," I say making a pretty disturbing evil face.

We both laugh and make our way to the front desk only inches away, to check out of the hotel. We both hand our key cards back, and we're out of the hotel in less then 10 minutes.

"Thanks for the ride Tara!" Nicole calls from her front porch.

"No problem!" I yell back, "See you in 2 weeks!"

I drive away from Nicole's house and make my way back to my apartment complex. Once I arrive, I park my car and grab my suitcase and Penny board from the trunk. I close it and lock my car. Tomorrow I have to fly to Tennessee, and it won't be a one way flight. I have to take a 7 hour flight to Colorado, then a 3 hour flight to Kansas, so the plane can refuel, and then a 4 hour flight to Nashville. But, I have to drive about 3 hours in a rental car to Maryville. The small, small, city in which I grew up in.

I enter my apartment, and it's exactly how I left it.

"Good to be home," I whisper to myself, the suitcase handle still in my hand.

I walk into my room and unpack all my clothes and shoes. I finish in less than 10 minutes.

I'm just to excited.

On the way here, Nicole and I scheduled all of our gaming while I'm gone with my sister's wedding.

As I grab a bigger suitcase for my trip to Tennessee, all of these questions race through my mind.

Do they have my Maid of Honor's dress?

Will Connor like me?

Will he hate me?

Do I have a speech?

Will Levi be there?

The last question shakes me out of thought.

Why does Levi have that effect on me? It's not like high school. He can't break my heart... again.

My last year of high school and last summer in Tennessee flash before my eyes.
