Once upon a time in a land far far away... Whoops, wrong story! Alex had just woke up to the banging on the door by her brother and the endless ''happy birthdays' ''.She sat on the end of her bed then after a while of contemplating, she stood up and moved near her dresser and picked up the hairbrush and started brushing her long brown hair. Then her older cousin/ best friend, rushed into the room and jumped on her and gave her a warm hug and smile.
''Happy 14th Birthday Al!'' Shouted Isabelle.
''Thanks Isabelle,'' replied Alex.
After a while of talking, Isabelle handed Alex a small box in which it contained a rose gold, the glittery phone case that had a small ruby butterfly near the camera lenses. Then both girls went down to eat breakfast.
''Good morning mum!''Isabelle said in a jolly tone.
''Good morning my sweetie pie, now eat some breakfast,'' spoke a large lady who was apparently my auntie though she looked nothing like my mother and who was a cruel lady who never cared about me or my little brother.
''Hi auntie,'' Alex tried to say in a nice tone.
''Good morning to you too, the little rascal is in the toilet.''
His name is Oliver... I muttered under my breath so that she couldn't hear me. I went to the bathroom and looked at my 5-year-old brothers' face to see if she hit him again. He looked at me with tears in his eyes, which made me growl with rage. ''Some Birthday',' I said to myself.
''I only had a small nightmare, then I woke up and then she came to my room and slapped my face,'' cried my little brother.
''One day when I'm a bit older we won't have to live with that hag,'' I yelled.
After breakfast, Alex and Isabelle got ready for school.
''Don't worry school will be okay,'' Isabelle tried to say with a reassuring face. I wished Isabelle was in my grade only she wasn't. She was two grades above.
Aunt Margret dropped us off at school which was called ''Ninas' School for Girls''. I hated it. All the girls were mean and two-faced. I knew that because of my ex-best friend Riley Parkinson. We were best friends since we were 4 years old, even before my parent's death. She was the only reason I actually liked school. But then three years ago in camp, the school ''Popular'' girls wanted to add her as a member of their gang. Then all they did for years was torment me and humiliate me. I have no clue why but I guess they just did it for fun and satisfaction.
''We arrived,'' spoke aunt Margret.
''Thanks for the ride mum,'' Isabelle said politely.
''Yeah,'' agreed on Alex.
Alex arrived at her class. I hope no one humiliates me today... thought Alex. She opened the door slowly. As she stepped in she turned to see Miss Bunns Yell at her,'' You're late AGAIN, Miss Alexandra.''
''Sorry Miss, but you see I had a slight issue at home and-''
''Oh did you,'' started Miss Bunns with a cunning grin,'' But you see I DON'T CARE now SIT down!''
''But-''
''Now!''
''Fine,'' mumbled Alex with annoyance in her tone.
As she sat down she saw a shiny object in the slit of her desk. She opened the drawer and picked up a beautiful looking crystal, handmade watch. She stared at it for a moment and something seemed unreal. she clutched the watch and then put it in her pocket.
The class ended 45 minutes later and after Math, she had a double Biology lesson with Ms. Linda, she was relieved it was lunchtime. Alex and Isabelle met at their usual lunch spot, near the bins.
'' So how's YOUR day going.'' asked the tired looking Isabelle.
''Normal I guess,'' replied Alex, then she remembered the watch in her pocket,'' Oh, I remembered, when I was in Maths class with Miss Binns-''
''LOL, Miss Binns is the worst right.''
''Shh, Yeah, let me finish. So the weirdest thing happened. I found this.''
Alex carefully took the delicate, crystal, engraved watch from her pocket and placed it on the table for them to examine.
Isabelle read,''...Blah, Blah...1991...Anne Lauren Peterson ii...WAIT THAT'S YOUR MUMS NAME!!''
''Yes, I know,'' spoke the curious looking Alex,''but how come.''
''Lets' found out laaaaater.''
''Whaaa-''
''3 o'clock, your side.''
''okaaaay,'' mumbled Alex who was confused, however, when she turned her head she was soaked within seconds, not surprised to see her ex-bestie Riley who threw her water at her.
''OMG I'm Sooo Sorry,'' grinned Riley.
''Yeah, yeah SURE you are.''
''I am so sorry.''
''What do you want, I'm already having a bad birthday. I don't need you to make it even WORSE and by the way, you can't force me to do your H.W again.''
''Ya, I can''
'' Wait a second she forces you to do HER homework,'' asked Isabelle to Alex.
''Unfortunately, Yes.''
Later that day.
Alex was in her room, writing in her diary when she forgot about some homework. She went into her bag then noticed the watch shining. She picked it up and slipped it on. Then she went downstairs and prepared dinner. As aunt Margret walked in she wasn't rudely greeted by her, strange she thought, instead of aunt Margret saying,''yuck! What filth have you made,'' she said,'' Well, that chicken does smell lovely.''
What the- thought Alex. Then she looked down at her watch. It can't be she thought.
