Chapter 1

I come to 2 ladders, both leading to success

I take the one on the right

One bar is slick. I convince myself I'll be safe

I climb up the ladder and slip off the bar

I hit my head on the pavement

I clean my wound. It isn't my fault

Chapter 2

I come to two ladders, both leading to success

I take the one on the right

One bar is slick. I don't notice through its disguise

I climb the ladder. The bar tricks me

I fall and hit my head on the pavement

The wound takes a long time to heal, and affects me forever

It's not my fault

Chapter 3

I come to two ladders, both leading to success

I take the one on the right

One bar is slick. It's hidden too well

I don't notice until it's too late

I fall and hit my head on the pavement

My blood now stains the ground as I care for my wound

I blame someone else but I know it's my fault

Chapter 4

I come to two ladders, both leading to success

I take the one on the left

I begin to reach my goal, then look down

The pavement is dark red and stained

My head still hurts from the falls

I am afraid of another slick bar and go back down

Chapter 5

I come to two ladders, both leading to success

I take the one on the left

I notice the blood stains and use them to my advantage

I want to prove that I can make it through

I climb until I reach the top

I look back at the blood stains

I have found my strength to climb the next ladder
