"You better watch out

You better not cry

Better not pout

I'm telling you why

Santa Clause is coming to town"

The song went on and on. The melody ringing through the house of the Brown family. Mr Brown, Garrison, had just gone out to finish getting some last second Christmas things. Mrs Brown, Lacy, was in the kitchen with her daughter, Eliza, baking cookies. Lucas, the oldest son, was in the living room playing with his younger brother, James. The laughter of the house filled the rooms, along with the sweet scent of cookies and peppermints.

"Come on Eliza, let's leave some for Santa." Mrs Brown said. She took some and placed them on a plate. Then took the plate to the living room to see her sons tackling each other. "Stop it the both of you!" Mrs Brown screeched at her sons.

"He started it!" Yelled James. He pushed Lucas off of him and scrambled to his feet. "I knew I shouldn't have come. I always get beaten by Lucas!" James stomped up the stairs and slammed the door to his room, where he was staying for the week.

"Lucas, go apologies to your brother, now." Mrs Brown ordered. Lucas scuffed at his mother.

"Why should I? He started saying all these things about how Amelia is stupid! He has no right to call my girlfriend that!" Lucas screamed at his mother. His sister rolled her eyes.

"She is kind of dumb. Also, she is very rude. I mean, she didn't even come for Christmas!" Eliza laughed at her brother and his girlfriend, who was luckily not there at the time. Eliza turned to her mother. "O and mom, Santa isn't real. Why are we leaving perfectly good cookies out for no reason?" Eliza took the plate of cookies and went upstairs to her brother. Mrs Brown turned to her oldest son.

"Don't look at me. I'm going to the basement if you need me to do anything worthwhile." Lucas stormed down the steps to his hideout. Suddenly the door opened revealing Mr Brown.

"Women! Where are you!?" Mr Brown came running into the living room. His clothes were covered in snow. His black hair a mess, filled with dirt and snow, and his cold blue eyes seemed lifeless. "There is a LARGE mess in the kitchen! Clean it now!" Mr Brown rose his hand and slapped Mrs Brown across the face. Unfortunately for Mrs Brown, that was the hand that Mr Brown wore all of his rings. A few trickles of blood fell from Mrs Brown's cheek and forehead.

Mrs Brown did not make a single noise for fear she'll get another hit.

"Go clean up your mess!" Mr Brown went to his bedroom and slammed the door. Mrs Brown went to the kitchen and cleaned her mess that she made with Eliza.

When Mrs Brown had finished cleaning she went and took a shower, and fell asleep in bed with her husband. Lucas was asleep in the basement on the couch. James fell asleep on his bed. Eliza was the only one awake. However, she wasn't doing anything good. Eliza was on the ground of her bedroom, drinking away her problems.

"O, isn't life great, Zach?" Eliza asked her dead fiance. Zach smiled at her and nodded.

"Everything is perfect, and you know it. Nothing that isn't normal." Eliza smiled and ran her fingers through Zach's black hair.

"I miss you, Zach," Eliza whispered, then sighed. "Anyway, I want you out. Cause either you're here because I'm drunk and I need to learn not to be, or my tumour is back. Which one is it, honey?" Eliza asked. Zach scoffed at his alive fiance.

"You, my love, are the drunkest women in the entire world." Eliza laughed, waking up James. "Your tumour is gone Eliza, don't worry, I'm just here because drinking is fun with you." James opened the door to Eliza's room.
