NARRATOR: Anyone who has walked uphill with camping gear knows that it gets very heavy after a while. With the added items, it could easily be a problem for Thorne.
When they got to base camp, CRESS was frowning, making worried glances at THORNE.
CRESS faces THORNE.
CRESS: Are you sweating?
THORNE: A little. Why?
CRESS audibly gasps.
CRESS: You need to take the extra stuff out of your bag. As we get higher in altitude, the temperature decreases. If you sweat, your sweat will freeze, and can kill you. We said we were making it all the way, with EVERYONE.
CINDER: Cress is right. We should have split the things evenly. Sorry for unconsciously trying to kill you.
THORNE: It's fine. And anyway, it's not the first time.
CINDER: It was once, and I was saving the world. Sorry if I had to put you in the line of fire to kill an evil queen!
SCARLET: Guys, it's getting late and I need sleep. Can you keep your useless arguing to a minimal?
THORNE & CINDER: Sorry Scar.
NARRATOR: During the next three weeks, nothing interesting happened. Thorne had started a vlog, saying that whether he lived or died didn't matter, as long as he was remembered. In the second week, Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress had gotten so good at Uno, that they had an ongoing game, that had been going on for four days and twelve hours. Then, on the the Wednesday, May 30, an ice avalanche hit Everest, coming straight toward the climbers' base camp. As the group prepared for their death, Cress said and did something that surprised them more than the avalanche.
