Anika's POV

"What are we going to do, big brother?" I frown, leaning on the railing of Mizu's balcony. The cold breeze whips past us, Haydn clutching the jacket around his body. Taking a breath, I welcome the fresh air.

"Clearly this Amon is a threat to Republic City, both non-benders and benders alike" he sighs, rubbing his head. "Mr. Sato can always protect us, put I'd rather but my trust in someone who's job is keep balance in the world."

"So you want to stick close to Avatar Korra?" I question, cocking a brow.

Haydn nods, looking down to his hands. "I don't want to lose my bending, Anika. It sounds selfish, but it is apart of me. Spirits, Zolt has already left the gang and Shin hasn't left the guest room in days."

"Maybe you're right" I say, a small part of myself grinning like Bolin. Avatar Korra would know how to fix this, she had to. She had all the power in the world, surely she would be able to restore Shin's bending.

"Of course I'm right" Haydn beams, nudging me playfully. "Now, Mizu and I are gonna head down to Air Temple Island, maybe find out where Mako and Bo are or maybe even the Avatar."

"Be careful with her" I warn, my tone serious. "Don't let your emotions make you think differently like it did with Asami."

He coughs, rubbing his neck. "Oh please-"

"Just be careful, okay?" I sigh. "With everything going on we don't need to worry about our love lives. Besides she seems uptight."

"Got it" he nods, turning and heading back inside.

Haydn's POV

"You never told me where you learned to fight" I say, a spray of sea water washing over us. Propelling us forward in the boat, Mizu slows, looking back to me.

"Didn't expect it from me?" she asks, halting to a stop.

Coughing, I'm surprised by her bluntness. Living with Anika has made her bold. "No not that, just wondering how you learned."

She puffs out her lips, looking over the water. "My father is a general in the Southern Water Tribe Navy. He and my mother made sure I could always take care of myself." Rising her arms, the boat begins to move once more. "I left home the second I turned seventeen. I love the city life and wanted to make a name for myself."

"That's very admirable" I note, watching as her body moves. Even though it was such a simple task, her entire body moves with the water.

"What about you?" she questions. "Anika never mentioned your past."

I sigh. "We were abandoned by our parents so jumped from foster home to foster home. Eventually we found the Triple Threats and it was the only gang that would accept both me and Anika."

She stays silent, slowing down as we approach the docks. There stands Korra, arms crossed with Tenzin at her side. "Good day Councilman Tenzin" Mizu bows, Tenzin returning the favor.

"Is there something we can do for you two?" he asks, motioning for Mizu and I to follow.

"With everything happening with Amon, we wanted to know what we can do. We want to stay safe as I'm sure you wish to do as well" I say, looking over to the Avatar.

She catches my eye, the blue bright like the bay. "There is no plan, however some councilmen are trying to start a task force."

"You don't seem too happy about that" Mizu notices.

Korra shakes her head, a scowl on her face. "He is very persistent. I need to focus on my training."

I stop in my tracks, brow raised. "You can't be serious. Amon is a serious threat and you're not going to do anything."

"I'm not doing nothing. I'm becoming a fully realized Avatar so I can help the city" she growls, turning to me with her fists clenched.

"Sure" I sneer, anger washing over me. Anika was right, she was uptight. "Still you had more experience than Avatar Aang and he was able to end a war."

"Excuse me?" Korra asks, her brows furrowed.

"You're safe on this little island where no one can get you, but people like me and Mizu have to worry if we're next. Aren't Bolin and Mako your friends, yet Bolin almost lost his bending" I state, Tenzin resting a hand on my shoulder.

Snarling, Korra storms off, the waves crashing onto the dock. Tenzin frowns, looking to Mizu and I. "My apologies, I think Amon has gotten to her more than she realizes."

"I just want something to be done, sir" I reply.

"I understand that. Korra still needs time, so perhaps you could talk with Chief Beifong?" Tenzin suggests.

I stifle a laugh. "I'm sorry, Councilman but I can't just make an appointment with the Chief of Police."

Tenzin grins, giving my shoulder a squeeze. "You don't need to make an appointment. Please, come to a gala that Tarrlock is hosting for Korra. Chief Beifong will be there and I'll be sure to introduce you all myself."

"Thank you Concilman" Mizu grins, tugging on my arm.

"Please, call me Tenzin" he chuckles, the lines his forehead lifting. "The gala is tonight at City Hall. Just tell them you're with me."

"That is too kind, Tenzin. Thank you" I grin.

Mizu and I turn, heading back to the docks, large grins on our faces.
