prior...

i had arrived, i walked into the cafe and found a cute spot outside, i texted jack i was here and he said he was about two minutes away. gives me time to mentally calm myself, to hope for the worse. jokes. i see his figure walk through the cafe, not without being stopped by some girls asking for a selfie, i totally understand why he felt so against or worried about me knowing who he was. i offered a friendly wave, he smiled widely.

"hey gorgeous!" he greeted, as he pulled me into a hug. it didn't feel awkward, his hug offered so much warmth and protection. "hey jack, how have you been since last night?" i ask trying to not have any awkward silences. he settled down in the chair opposite me, "i am better now that i get to see your beautiful face, and sorry about how i reacted over text" he apologises and a blush immediately crept onto my cheeks, "no no don't apologise, i totally understand why you reacted like that, i cannot imagine being in your shoes, it must be hard to date someone not already famous" i explain, he chuckled, oh my god i said date, and we are not even a thing, we just met, what the heck bella, i was quick to correct myself.

"oh no i didn't we are dating or anything more than friends, if that" i stutter, and he laughed even more, "you are adorable, i get you, don't worry we aren't dating... yet" he cheekily replied. my cheeks become redder than they already are. we flicked through the menu and we out of coincidence ordered the same thing, avocado on toast. we fell into deep conversation about almost anything, from getting to know each other to talking about what i study in college, to what he and his mates get up to and his music career, he was so amazing, i mean as in i am mesmerised by what he does.

"that is so cool, i wish i had the freedom to create anything i wanted" i say, taking a sip of my juice, his eyes brighten, you can really tell he is passionate about his job, "it really is, like i don't know how to say it but like it almost feels like so good to have my music, my sound out there for the world to hear, you feel?" he repeats, i sat there nodding, not wanting to interrupt him. "you can really see the awe in your eyes, your passion, i can see you love what you do and that you are very grateful for the luck you had, the talent you were born with and for your fans" i had my input. he had the biggest smile on his face, "bella you know the exact words to make me smile" he speaks intertwining our fingers. the sparks, the touch, i was feeling, i don't even know, but it felt so good, like we share this connection, i laughed "i'm not even being sarcastic", he nodded, "i know i can see it in your eyes and the genuine tone in your voice, do you have anything apart from writing, you wanted to pursue? like did you want to be a model or something?" he asked.

i thought for a moment, and it's true i've never wanted something more than want to sing, but to perform on stage, but i was always to showcase my voice, it was something only my very close family members and friends have heard. i explain to him my passion, "i've always wanted to sing, as clichè as it sounds, i loved to write songs, to sing songs, not many people have heard my voice only my very close friends and family, i guess this is my love for writing started, but i've always been too shy to actually do something with my voice" and his eyes widened, "you need to sing for me some day, just dive straight into it, don't be shy" he encourages me and i shy away, covering my face with the palms of my hands, "easier said than done" i moan, and he agreed. we have been here for at least 2 hours now, just talking about anything and almost everything, everything felt so natural, and it made me like him even more, pretty sure he only sees me as a friend, well he did just come out of a relationship.

we both get up from our seats and made our way out of the cafe, he turns to face me "do you want to come back to my place to chill?" he asked nervously rubbing the back of his neck, and i look to my feet not knowing what to say, before i could answer, he added, "i mean if you want, maybe uh if you uh liked?" he was adorable. "yeah sure, i mean if it's okay with your housemates, you friends" i agreed and he shook his head as he grabbed my hand, and interlocked our fingers, leading me to his car. this was so perfect.
