Third person POV
About a week has passed since that "incident", and Ruby, Mia and Austen have pretty much confirmed that Griffon is an enemy. Unfortunately, just like them, Griffon and the Sapphire (who they found out to be another girl from their school named Destiny) meet up a few times a week, probably talking about finding the other gems and killing them off, in order to prevent the 12 of us uniting and once again, bring peace to Neraida.
Ruby and Austen were once again meeting up at Austen's house in order to think of their next move, this time, with Mia tagging along.
"Now that we know that Griffon and Destiny are both our enemies, what should we do?" asked Austen. He didn't want to admit it, but he was very nervous. Simply knowing that they have another enemy to deal with really didn't sit right with him.
"We should take them down," Ruby replied as a matter of factly.
"I'm with Ruby on that one," Mia says with a grin, putting her fist into her other hand. "Best way to get rid of an enemy is to knock some sense into them!" she continued with way too much enthusiasm.
Austen was shocked by their replies. They wanted to fight them? Do they have any idea how crazy that is? He thought to himself. Seeing the shocked look on his face, Ruby said, "I'm not saying we should fight them now. After all, you're not in shape to battle," to which Mia nodded her head in agreement.
Although that was true, it sort of hurt his pride hearing her say that out loud. "I'll train you," she said suddenly. "In the meantime, we need to try to find other gems that aren't our enemies."
Austen nodded. It was a good idea. He hasn't been battling for a year now. "I think that's a good idea, but... how do you plan to teach me Earth magic?" he asked. She was a Fire fairie after all.
"We might not be able to teach you Earth magic, but what we can teach you is simple martial arts. It's important to not depend on your magic too much," Mia replied. "We can train back in Neraida at the palace. It's winter break for the next two weeks anyways so we won't have to go to school." At this point, Mia was literally bouncing on her feet, "Gosh this is going to be such a fun break, it's like a giant sleepover!" Ruby rolled her eyes.
"That sounds like a plan! I just have to let my parents know that I'm going to stay in Neraida during the winter break." A look of confusion passed by Ruby's face. "They're my real parents from Neraida. We moved here when I was younger. To escape the water hunters," he explained. Ever since the Water fairies have been hunting down the gems, the gems have starting taking refuge on Earth. It worked effectively in making it hard for them to be found, for it wasn't until around ten years ago that the water hunters have traced the gems to Earth. However, most fairies would only send their children to Earth in order to hide them, making most fairies on Earth orphans.
"I see. Then... what do you mean by you 'came' here a year ago? And your parents know that I'm a Fire fairy?"
"I've been living in Neraida because I was part of the Earth kingdom council. And no, I never told them about you being a fairy. I wasn't sure if you wanted them to know," Austen replied.
Finally understanding Austen'sconfusing story, Ruby said, "Well, hurry and tell your parents. We go backtoday."
