Chapter 18☙

Jungkook's POV

After confessing to JaeEun about the whole situation, I felt at ease. Yet the thought of something happening to my mom and brother brought tears to my eyes. I looked up at JaeEun and noticed how beautiful she looked. She said something and looked at me, and before she could say something else, she saw the tears in my eyes and scrunched up her face.

"Omo, Jungkook don't worry, I have a friend in America who could help." JaeEun reached over to my face and wiped my tears away. "She was a previous spy who worked with me but then she had to move. But where does your family live?" She asked.

"They live in Dallas, Texas," I answered back.

"Oh! Perfect, my friend lives in Huston. I don't think it will be that much of a hassle for her. Send me there exact location and I'll tell her to go over there and mix everything. Unless you want me to do something else." She said the last sentence and raised both her eyebrows.

"A-actually I've been trying to bring them back to Korea without Mr. Kim knowing but it's impossible." I said "I can barely even talk to them. I call my brother like once a month with a public phone since he tracks my calls to see if I'm trying to get them out of America." I quickly wiped the tear coming out of my eye. "He also has people check on them every now and then."

"Don't worry I'll get my friend on it and I'll make sure they get back here safely. Don't worry..." She then stood up and pulled me into a hug.

(Time skip: few days, afternoon)

After the incident, I booked tickets for a flight back to Seoul, yet I was curious why Mr. Kim or Jimin haven't done anything. We went to the airport smoothly, and the flight went well, and also there was no problem at Incheon airport. And JaeEun already talked to her friend in America about my mom and brother.

At the moment, me and JaeEun were sitting on the couch in her flat. Hoseok was really worried when we came back because JaeEun 'disappeared' out of the blue and left YeonIn. She lied to him saying that one of her friends needed something and ended up falling asleep there. He seemed a bit skeptical but said ok.

JaeEun was giving YeonIn food after we had eaten some packet ramen. She even said that she'll come to work as well.

"Hey Jungkook, I'll be back in like 10 minutes. I need to get some snacks." She said making me turn my head from the TV to her.

'Damn she looked so cute while holding a fluffy corgi in her arms. But the way her hair flows down and lands on her shoulders and the way she blinks her eyes in the cutest way, just makes me...' I shook the thoughts away and stood up.

"I should come with you, you never know if Mr. Kim is following us or something," I said in a concerned voice and walked out of her apartment as she quickly put YeonIn down and followed me.

JaeEun's POV

After going and coming from the store safely, me and Jungkook were eating some of the things we bought and listening to music. Jungkook was passionately yet goofily singing to Eyes Noes and Lips by Taeyeon while dancing. I was laughing my ass off constantly because he was being so dramatic. YeonIn was jumping around as well.

But I had to admit that he was a very good singer. But there was one thought that that took my smile away, wouldn't leave my mind, my parents. I wanted to see them but at the same time, I never want to see them again. I knew that Jungkook would know something about them, but I was too afraid to ask him. Of course, I wasn't afraid of him, I was afraid that I would regret knowing what he tells me.

I finally built up the courage and looked to Jungkook who was in the kitchen getting water after dancing so much. When he came back I looked him in the eye and said. "Jungkook, do you know anything about my parents and why they would 'sell' me to Mr. Kim?"

He suddenly stopped his steps and looked at me with questioning eyes. "W-Well I know that they work with Mr. Kim and my father when he was alive, but I saw them once a few weeks ago in Mr. Kim's office before everything happened." He said hesitantly. "Maybe they were discussing something involved with you."

"I-I just never knew they would go that far. I mean ya, they didn't bother coming to my brothers funeral, but I never knew they would actually sell me to someone." My eyes got tears as the mood of the whole room became quiet and pitiful. Even YeonIn sat down calmly and tilted her head to the side.

"Do you perhaps... Want to meet them?" He asked out of the blue, making me shoot my head up and look at him.

I opened my mouth to answer 'no', but I stopped myself and thought for a moment. 'Do I want to meet them? I mean I haven't seen them for years, and our last encounters weren't that pleasant. How would they react though?'

"I-I don't know. A part of me wants to see them after many years, but the other part never wants to see their face again. Like how would they react? I know that they clearly don't love me, or they wouldn't sell me to Mr. Kim. *tears up* I've always wanted to know what it was like having loving parents but I guess I'll never know." I finally finished as tears went down my cheeks.

Jungkook came closer to me and pulled me into a tight hug. "It's ok, we all have some sort of problem with our family. It will be resolved someday. Trust me..."
