My life has never been easy bro. A girl who is black on this earth wasn't going to be easy anyway but being a girl who is black on this earth who was in foster care since a small solitary child because of my parents who were hooked on drugs, sure as hell wasn't easy.

We, my siblings and I, were split up when my neighbour reported my parents after witnessing them doing drugs in our garden during hours of the night. The police came and arrested my parents and we waited with officers until social services arrived at our home. At 12, I didn't understand anything they were saying but in the simplest form, they explained that I was going to a foster home, away from my 4 older brothers and my twin sister. To me it was more of a vacation because siblings are siblings but once I finally realised they were going to be gone for a good minute it put me in a state of mind I would not wish upon anyone.

This is how my life went after I was taken to my foster home.
