"Is this the last of it?" Corn whispered through Yoyo's window, careful not to wake up Yoyo's mother down the hall.
"Yeah, let me just grab Potts and we can get the hell outta here!" Yoyo whispered back slinging a backpack over his shoulder and grabbing a dog-carrier containing a small bulldog inside. The two boys climbed into Corn's truck and drove off to Corns house a few blocks away.
"Thanks for letting me come move in with you and Gum, it really means a lot to me, yo." Yoyo said as they pulled into the driveway.
"Don't mention it, man. I couldn't let you stay there and continue to get beat on by that psycho old bag of a mother you got. You needed an escape, and we're always gonna have your back, kid. Plus, you're part of the GG's now, its better that we all stick together." Corn replied, helping Yoyo carry his belongings into the place he would now call home.
"Who woulda thought we'd end up like this when we first met? I was just trying to hide from my old lady after I told her the truth, this was the first house I saw so I knocked on the door and-" Corn cut him off,
"and we thought you were the pizza guy and invited you in. Then we realized you didn't have pizza but let you crash until everything with your mom blew over."
"Now I'm moving into your house to start my life over, and I feel so free. I'm ready to get out there and make my mark in this town.... literally!" Yoyo exclaimed, setting down the last of his boxes in his new room.
"Well, you're in luck. According to DJ K, the Goddess of Dogenzaka Hill has been stolen, and some new lone rudie has been spreading rumors about the GG's. Yoyo, first thing in the morning you're gonna go out there and check it out." Gum said as she walked into Yoyo's room to join him and Corn.
"Man, why do I gotta do it, Yo? Why can't you and Corn take care of it?" Yoyo whined in protest.
"Because we're having a date day tomorrow, so we're taking a break from gang stuff. That means you gotta take care of it. It'll be your first solo mission, so think of it as an initiation." Gum said in a cheerful, yet condescending tone.
"Fine, whatever yo. I'm just happy to be out of my old house and here where I can be as free as I want, I guess I'll take care of it."
With Yoyo went to bed and mentally prepped himself for the long day he had ahead of him, and he was finally able to sleep peacefully, knowing that he wasn't going to be awoken by his drunk mother going through another one of her angry spells.

Yoyo was finally free.
