No, there is never a happy ending to fairy tales. There will never be, and there will never have one.

The stories that they all tell you are all lies. Who do you think would just love someone for the first time they have met? No One.

And that is what is happening to me right now.

"My lady, the Prince has called for you in his chambers." A maid said bowing down in front of me. I nodded back at her and signaled her to go to which she did.

"Mother...hadn't father told you not to go near his rooms ever again?" Beside me is my daughter, Catalina. Yeah, after being married to him for fifteen years, he finally got tired of me and left me for someone else.

Fortunately, I am still the Queen consort and that may change anytime soon. In the minds of our people, I am their one ruler, alongside my once husband.

'Of course they will or I'll kick their asses.' I trained how to fight these past years without my husband's knowledge. I know he is a traditional man who thinks wives should just be inside their houses to serve their husbands whenever they got home from work.

"But, before I go, I do not want you to use any of your magic. It will get you in trouble." A nod was all I got before I left the vicinity.

Time to face my husband.

With his second wife.

When I got there, I knocked on the door. I don't want to see them...not clothed, thank you.

"Who is it?" Oh, it's that old hag. I would have been jealous if the woman was as pretty as me or more but no.

He just had to go with the...SIMPLE one. Sarcasm included.

"It's me Lady Vaine." Your name fits you so much.

"Enter." I waited for five seconds to enter as I heard the shuffling of the bed sheets. They are just getting clothed.

"Well, is there anything that you need?" I asked the minute I entered their chambers. Once ours but I am glad that I am not locked in this loveless marriage anymore.

"Yes, well, we would like to discuss with you about something." Lady Vaine is looking at me with a smug look. Well, well, well, they are certainly doing it.

"Yes?" I inquired him to continue.

"Lady Vaine shall be, from now on, the Queen Consort." I simply nodded at that fact. Whatever his decision is, I cannot change it.

Anyway, our people certainly will cry out later. This Lady Vaine does not know anything about ruling a kingdom.

"If that is what you wish, so it may be. Just remember, do not be coming after me and my children if your new Queen and her children have not fit your tastes. And also, if they are not accepted by our people. You do know that the cries of our people can be heard everywhere, don't you?"

A stunned look came over the two's faces as they realized what I have been saying.

"Well then, we wouldn't want to be forcing ourselves in a home that certainly wouldn't be ours after this day. We would be moving away. I shall be leaving the crown on my chambers."

I turned around and was about to leave when Lady Vaine stood up and held me on my shoulder.

"You are not the one with the King's affections, I am. And my children are worthy enough for anything else that your children had once." She said it with a smirk on her face. I nudged her hand away with my shoulder and glared at her and the King.
