Lights up on an almost bare stage.
A stool sits in front of the audience, next to a large container of water.
Silence.
Dane enters, arriving at the unoccupied stool, and sits, then starts screaming.
The screaming lasts for a while, stopping occasionally for Dane to drink water, at the discretion of the actor and/or the actor's vocal chords.
Eventually Dane runs out of water and stops screaming as if about to take another sip, and a crew member comes onstage and slowly replaces the empty container with a full one.
Dane drinks.
And then continues to scream for the duration of the play.
