Hey everyone. I'm Elizabeth May, but you can call me Liz or
Lizzy for short. My friends know me as fun but quiet, and others
just see me as quiet and shy. Most of the time I'd rather sit
around and read a book than go out and be social. Or listen to
music. Music is my escape from the world, and I love it more
than anything else.
My father is an alcoholic. He isn't abusive like some alcoholic
fathers, but when he's drunk (which is most of the time), he
tends to yell at me a lot. So I usually just try to avoid him. My
mom left us when I was nine. I don't remember much of her,
and I definitely don't miss her.
I'm seventeen now, a junior. My dad and I are moving away
from our familiar home in Tampa Bay, Florida to Forks,
Washington, which means I have to leave behind my friends,
home, school, and everything familiar. I'd lived here in Tampa
Bay all my life, and never traveled outside of the state. Now I
was moving across the country and had to basically start over
again. I couldn't be dreading it more.
