5. The Original Salvatore

Jeremy and I walked down the stairs and Damon, Elena and Katherine were sitting on the couch discussing the Stefan situation. "Good morning!" I smiled at my brother and he returned the gesture.

Katherine looked at me with a slight panic in her eyes. "Do you have any news from Stefan?" She asked and I could tell she was truly worried.

I shook my head from side to side and looked down. "Not yet. We just have to hope for the best." I glanced at Jeremy and he squeezed my hand, comforting me.

Elena stood up and crossed her arms. "We can't just sit here waiting for bad news." She looked at Damon and then turned to me. "Silas tells you things, so I think you should try to talk to him and find out what he knows."

"Are you insane?" Katherine yelled. "Silas can read minds and he'll know that I'm here and then he'll kill me!"

Jeremy chuckled. "Then again, that would actually be a good thing." She glared at my boyfriend and he shrugged. "No one cares about you, Katherine."

I smirked at her and then turned my attention to Elena. "I'm not going to talk to Silas. He possessed me a few months ago and he's capable of compelling an entire town." I sighed in fear. "To be perfectly honest, I'm scared of him."

Damon nodded in agreement. "I'm not putting my sister in danger."

Suddenly, the door opened and Stefan came stumbling in, all sweaty and breathless. "Stefan!" I gasped in shock. After all this time he was actually here but he didn't look good.

"Stefan!" I walked over to my brother and held him in a tight embrace but he didn't return the hug. I faced him and he seemed confused. "Are you alright?" I asked worried about him.

My brother looked into my brown eyes in bewilderment. "Who are you?" He asked and I could feel my heart stop beating for a few seconds.

I took a step back and a tear streamed down my face. "Steffy, it's me! Your sister Mia."

"Oh..." Stefan looked at me and then glanced at Elena and his face lit up. He stepped closer to her and caressed her cheek softly. I'm gonna smack a bitch if he remembers his ex and not his own sister. "I know we don't know each other but I feel like I've known you for a while."

When Elena was about to reply, a woman entered the house with a smug look on her face. "Stefan, you're home now. Perhaps you should rest." She smiled at my brother and he nodded, obeying this stranger.

"I don't remember inviting you to my house." Damon smirked while raising an eyebrow. He wasn't happy about this surprise visitor either.

The woman stood by the fireplace and glared at all of us. "That is not the way to thank the person who saved your brother." Her smirk was visible and I felt like hitting her.

I stepped closer to her, showing no fear for this stranger. "Who are you and what did you do to my brother?" Honestly, her face was annoying the hell out of me.

"My name is Tessa and I simply made him forget all the torture Silas put him through." She was facing me, clearly not scared of me.

Jeremy put his hand around my waist in a protective way. "How do you know Silas?" My boyfriend asked, while pulling me back. He knew that I was about to lose control.

Tessa looked at Elena and Katherine and she seemed intrigued by them. "Silas was the love of my life until he betrayed me." She sighed. "All because of a girl that wasn't nearly as pretty as I am." She was now glaring at the two identical girls.

"Are you going to enlighten us or are we supposed to guess who you are?" Damon asked sarcastically.

I gasped. "You're Qetsiyah! The witch that cursed Silas and killed his true love." My head was now spinning at this discovery.

"You're smart! That must be a family trait." Tessa said with a clear sarcastic grin.

"Family trait?" Damon asked confused. At this point, we were all confused.

Tessa rolled her eyes and then stared at all of us. "Silas is the original Salvatore. The three of you are direct descendants of him." I was in complete and utter shock. Never in a million years I would have guessed that I'm related to that monster.

"Wait, what?" Damon was still confused just like me. I need answers and I need them now!

Tessa grinned in amusement. "Silas and I were engaged and I was happy because I loved him. But he was in love with Amara, my handmaiden." She glared at Elena and Katherine. "He tricked me into making a potion to make him immortal and I was planning on drinking it with him during our wedding ceremony, however, I found him and Amara drinking the immortality concoction together. In order to get revenge, I took Amara and used her blood to to create the Other Side." She grinned, proud of her actions. "Silas was conviced his true love died and isolated himself with the Cure. My plan was to have him drink the Cure and then let him die as a mortal so he would join me on the Other Side but that never happened." She looked hurt and furious at the same time. "His love for Amara was stronger than anything."

Katherine rolled her eyes. "This bitch is even crazier than I am. Why would you be so hung up on Silas? Clearly he didn't like you and you wasted all your energy and time on a guy who would rather be miserable alone than miserable with you."

I nodded. "I have to agree with Katherine on this one."

Tessa's grin grew even wider. "That is not even the best part. All these years I have watched the Universe putting Silas and Amara together just to pull them apart."

"What do you mean?" Damon asked, even more confused than before, but also quite intrigued.

"Amara is the original Petrova." Tessa looked around the room while we all looked at her in shock. "Katherine and Stefan had their chance at love just like Stefan and Elena. They are bound together and that bond is stronger than you think."

Damon was shocked and slightly hurt by Tessa's revelation. I finally understand why Silas never really hurt me and why Stefan was so eager around Katherine back in 1864 and so heartbroken when Elena chose Damon over him. They are bound to be together and it's all because of Qetsiyah.
