First I launched myself forward and tried to spear the thing but the tightly knit scales of the red dragon were impossible to penetrate. As Eon swung her great sword I pulled back and looked at the beast.
I noted that it's whole body was full of the tightly knit rows of scales that looked as if they were made of red iron. The only slightly vulnerable side seemed to be the underside of the dragon and just like the green dragon, the innards - even though I was not willing to do what Over-watch had done.
The dragon reared its head backwards and spewed flames of fire which just missed Eon - she jumped out of the way at the last minute.
I now knew where to focus on. Every time these dragons wanted to spew out fire, they had to raise their head and move their head slightly backwards, exposing where I assumed, their hearts were. Then they would move their heads forward - fast - and fire would shoot out of their mouths.
I noted that all I had to do was wait for an opportunity when the dragon would do the above then I would be ready.
The dragon swung it's tail and swept me off my feet. Then it turned quickly and tried to bite or eat me while I was still down. I had to roll out of the way quickly and got back on my feet.
The dragon seeing that it's tail had been successful with me tried to do the same with Eon. Eon jumped up to miss the tail but at the same time swung the great sword up and as she came down swung the great sword downwards with such force that one of the red iron scales was split into two and the blade cut the dragon slightly making it bleed. It gave a great roar.
The dragon lifted it's head intending to let loose and burn Eon and I had been eagerly waiting for this chance - I threw the spear with all my might aimed at the beast's heart. The dragon noticed what was about to happen and tried to turn but it was a minimal turn and the spear struck it, piercing it deep, but it missed the heart!
The dragon roared in pain. It was like thundering!
Eon jumped high up into the air and once again swung the great sword directing it to where she had drawn blood before. This time round she completely shattered the red iron scale and blood started oozing out.
The dragon mad with fury swung it's tail and hit Eon then it turned and bit her piercing the armour - Eon screamed!
I could not bear Eon screaming and so I ran as fast as my legs could carry me towards the beast's head and swung my sword at it's nose - the only other place I had noticed was also vulnerable.
I cut it's nose deeply and it immediately withdrew from Eon who then quickly scrambled to get back on her feet.
I whispered in Eons ear and she immediately ran to the left while I ran to the right. The dragon could not pick one of us and kept on switching it's glance from the right to the left - it couldn't decide whom it hated more!
I finally called out to the great red dragon, "Hey Scarlet, I thought you had more fight in you but as it turns out you are just a big dumb bird - a sort of a big chicken!"
That pissed it off and it glared at me with reddened eyes - if looks could kill I would have been dead that very moment.
Eon at that very moment jumped as high as she could into the air and swung her sword with all her might at the part exposed - where Eon had smashed the scale and left it oozing blood.
She plunged the great sword deep into the beast till more than half the sword was no longer visible. The great roar the beast gave was deafening and everyone had their hands covering their ears but I had no time for that. I quickly ran to where my spear was stick very near the beasts heart, jumped high and kicked the spear to the right - since it had missed the heart by just a millimeter or less. The spear moved and tore open the beasts heart.
The noise stopped with immediate effect and the beast in its death throes was doing it's final jig and then slumped onto the ground - dead!
