What if I would have learned to fly on my own instead of using you as wings?
What if I wouldn’t have fallen in love with you?
What if my dark grey sky turned to blue?
What if you wouldn’t have left me alone?
What if you seen me dying and actually threw me a bone?
What if you would have noticed the signs?
What if you would have stopped acting blind?
What if you would have gotten there in time to save me?
What if you didn’t have to see me bleed?
What if you didn’t have to watch me die?
What if you never realized I was your high?
What if you didn’t take your own life when you found out I took mine?
What if we would have realized all the people we were leaving behind?
What if we could have prevented another tragedy?
What if we could have stopped others from feeling such agony?
..But the thing is you didn’t and I didn’t

We both made the mistake
We chose to be the ones to break
We had held together for so long….
We got tired of having to be so strong…
So again we made the mistake
To take what wasn’t really ours to take
To take the hope from others who were still holding on
We were gone but we weren’t really gone
Because our names will still live on
As reminders to others to stay strong
