Morning arrived, and Vanessa had awoken early. She took a shower, and began washing her hair. She heard creeping past the bathroom door. Her eyes flew open. She pulled the shower curtain back.

"DAD?", she said calmly but loud.

When she got no response, she just assumed he was still sleeping, and brushed it off. She finished her shower, and headed downstairs. She started making breakfast. She let the eggs cool down, and placed some pancakes in a pan on the stove.

While they cooked, she ran upstairs to her room, put on a yellow-checkered long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, yellow Chuck Taylor's, and sat down to do her makeup. She kept it slightly basic, with some yellow eyeshadow, black liquid eyeliner, slight pink blush, and clear shimmery lip gloss. She then curled her hair, pinned up and braided a small section of it towards the front, and sprayed.

She went back downstairs and finished up breakfast. At this time, her dad began walking down the stairs with a suit on. He had work that morning, and would only be able to have a quick chat with the grandparents.

"What's going on? You picked up work when you knew they were coming?", she snapped.

"They're paying a lot for this project, so I'm going to go in and get it done. You can have some quality time with them.", he explained.

She signed heavily and set the table. She made the plates of food, along with glasses of orange juice and/or milk. That's when she heard the doorbell.

"AHHHH! THEY'RE HERE! THEY'RE HERE!!!!", she shrieked and screamed with excitement.

She sprinted to the door and flew it open.

"Hi, sugar pie!", her granddad greeted.

She hugged her grandparents tight and didn't let go until her father stepped up.

"Hey, how have y'all been?", her grandmother asked.

"Everything has been dandy.", Vanessa's father, Adam, answered back.

They stepped inside and Vanessa helped them with their suitcases.

"Oh, my, look at that lovely meal!", the grandmother exclaimed.

"I decided to make breakfast. I figured you both would be pretty starved after driving all night.", Vanessa explained.

"Well, thank you! We don't like to stop for food when taking trips. We'd rather just drive the whole way.", the grandfather replied.

They sat down and ate, chatting and catching up. Soon, Vanessa father has to leave for work. He hugged them all and left with his briefcase. Vanessa and her grandparents finished up breakfast and were about to have a day full of fun!
