"One chance. This is my one chance," I chanted to myself under my breath, giving myself a small pep talk in my head for the one opportunity that could change my life forever, literally.
At this point in time I am stood in a studio in London with three other strangers, a group of fancy advisors in the corner and Lou Teasdale. Yes, I do mean the Lou Teasdale who is One direction's hair and make up woman.
I should probably start from the beginning.
Last week I was sat in my living room watching FRIENDS eating McCoy's 'Beef' flavour, when someone started ringing the door bell, but I don't mean normally, I mean the annoying over and over again until the noise is engraved into your mind forever and you will never forget it, kind of way. Slightly, angered by the interruption of me and my FRIENDS time and slumped over to the door, only to be bulldozed over by a whirlwind of brown hair singing at the top of their lungs. I knew who it was immediately.
After I shut the door I went to living room to find my best friend lying on the couch like she owned the place.....eating my McCoy's. Storming over I snatched them away causing her to look up with a grumpy expression, "Bitch please, you don't mess with my crisps!" I told her laughing and sitting next to her.
"Remember what I always say: friends buy you lunch, best friends eat your lunch," she said proudly whilst I mimed the exact words as she said them.
"You say that for every single thing that has to do with you eating someone else's food," I told her, being deadly serious.
"Oh who cares. It's true," she stated and I did have to agree slightly.
"Okay so what was it that had you so excited all of a sudden?" I asked her.
This question caused her to turn towards me with a mega watt grin on her face. I've got to admit, it was kind of creep the way her eyes became wide and everything. "After what I tell you, you are going to love me so much!!!" She squealed.
"Okay?" I replied unsure of where she was going with this and how to answer.
"Remember that hunt that Lou Teasdale was having for make up artists?" I groaned; I knew exactly where she was going with this.
"Lola, I already told you, there's like a one in a million chance that she even sees my portfolio never mind actually want to short list me, so, the answer is once again, no." She had been trying to get me to put images of my work as a make up artist on twitter for Lou Teasdale, because, she was hunting for a new make up artist for 5 seconds of summer, because they will be going tour later on in the year of 2015 and early 2016, which she can't be there for (obviously) because she works for One Direction. I didn't want to send anything in because it's not like she'd really see it, have you seen how quick those twitter tags receive tweets? There was no way she would see it.
Lola turned towards me with an awkward guilty expression that she does that doesn't hide that she's guilty.
"Okay, just clear something before I ask you what is wrong with you. If you tell me what you have obviously done, will I be questioned at the police station as an accomplice to you?" I ask her jokingly.
She rolls her eyes, "Oh, ha, ha," she mutters sarcastically, "I am going to tell you something that will have you on your knees begging at my feet! Basically, I found out about six or seven weeks ago that Lou Teasdale was also accepting mailed profiles so when you did your make practice for special effects or normal stuff for parties or your course and send them to me for my opinion, I would save them on my phone and about a month ago I sent off the printed portfolio to Lou Teasdale with your CV," she explained like it was no big deal.
