Chapter 21
Merry Christmas everyone!! Hope you have a great day :)
Ella's POV
"You ready for our trip?" Austin asks walking up behind me.
"Yes just loading my stuff into the truck." I reply dragging my bags along the floor.
"Ella!" My brother yells from upstairs.
I roll my eyes still mad about the incident yesterday. First, because of Mark, and second because of Chace not telling me about his girlfriend. I fell on Austin, which was a little awkward, but it didn't really mean anything. We are just friends after all.
"You should talk to him before we leave." Austin tells me. "Want to know what he told me when I found out?"
"You knew? That's not cool."
"I wasn't supposed to. But when I found out he said, 'don't tell anyone. I haven't even told Ella, who I tell everything to.'" Austin says looking straight into my eyes.
"Ya but the fact that he didn't tell me, even if he was going to. I mean she is staying in our house."
"True, you should still talk to him before we go. Besides we don't leave for another 38 minutes." He tells me.
"Fine, I'll talk to him, but I'm still mad about the whole thing." I reply and he walks to the kitchen.
I turn around and walk upstairs, towards my brother’s room, knowing that he and his girlfriend are going to be in there. I hesitate for a minute before knocking on his door.
"Come in." My brother says.
I swing the door open slowly and walk inside.
"Alice I'll be right back." He tells her stands up and walks out of his room, me following right behind him.
"Well," I say harsher then I intended.
"Look Ella I'm really sorry. I was going to tell you the day after the party," I look down "but none of us were really in a good place."
"You couldn't have told me before the party? Before the summer even began? Or even the day before she came?" I ask.
"I know I could've and I don't know why I didn't, it was stupid of me. I just don't like knowing that you are leaving for a week, still being mad at me."
"Why didn't you tell me? That's what I want to know. You know I would've been fine with it." I feel like I'm the older sibling right now. "I would've been so happy for you. It means that you would've finally gotten over Stacey."
"Do you want to know why I didn't tell you?" He looks down at the ground. "I didn’t tell you because she is Julia's sister."
"Julia Barlow!" I exclaim. "She is a Barlow? Those girls are cheap tramps, gold diggers! Oh my god Chace, how the hell could you fall for her facade?"
"This is why I didn't tell you. You know you can be a little judgemental bitch sometimes!" His words hit me like a cannon, and I can feel tears coming to my eyes, and I take a step back. "Ella you know I didn't mean that."
"Of all the people to call me some mean name, I never expected my brother to. I never thought it would be the one that hurt the worst too. Do you not remember what those her sisters did to me in elementary school? Right then you promised me you would never end up with a girl like them, and now you are dating their sister? Nice going Chace." I say feeling a warm tear rolling down my cheek.
"She is not like her sisters, Ella. She is the total opposite, she is nice and funny, and gorgeous, and way better than her sisters, on a good day." He tries to convince me.
"I'll have to see it to believe it." I tell him and walk down the stairs.
"Ella, what's wrong?" Austin asks sitting on a couch in the living room.
"Can we just go already."
"Ya, just let me grab the keys and tell our parents we are leaving."
"I'll be at the car." I tell him and walk out the front door.
I lean against the car and think of what just happened. "You know you can be a little judgemental bitch sometimes!" It still stings and I know more tears are streaming down my face.
"Ella? Oh, Ella, come here." Austin says arms open wide.
I walk into his arms and let him comfort me. "It'll all be okay." He says caressing my head.
*Flashback*
"Ella, it was just once! It'll never happen again, I promise." Mark says through the phone.
"No I never want to talk to you again!"
"Please Ella h-"
"Save it Mark!" I hung up my phone with a fury of rage and ran up the stairs to get to my room. Not looking where I am going I literally run into Austin.
"Whoa Ella, what's wrong?" He says noticing my puffy, red eyes and cheeks.
"Nothing, I just want to go my room and be left alone."
"You may not tell me what's wrong but I'm going to let you be alone when you are sad." He tells my brushing my cheek with his hand. "Now let's go to your room, and you can tell me what happened, or I can hold you and we can be silent."
He leads me to my room and we sit there, my with my head on Austin's shoulder, crying my eyes out.
"It'll all be ok in the end." He repeats softly.
*End of flashback*
"This is just like the time I broke up with Mark." I say causing him to chuckle.
"Do you want to go now? You can tell me what happened in the car, or we can sit in silence accompanied by some of our summer CD." He tells me.
"I think that would be nice. The silence thing." I tell him.
"Ok," He says unlocking the car. "I think the CD is on your side."
I put it in the CD player, and Austin starts driving. After three or four songs, I tell him what happened to make me upset. The nice thing is that he has always just listened to me, it's the type of friendship that you want to keep forever, and you try not to jeopardize it for anything. This will be a good trip for both Austin and I.
(A/N: A judgemental little bitch? That was a little harsh Chace. She is your little sister after all. Austin and Ella are off for their road trip. Let's all hope that nothing bad happen to them. And Alice being one of Ella's worst nightmares’ sister! AHHH! Let's hope the sisters never come to the house while Alice is there. Well guys here is chapter 21! What do you guys think of the book so far? Leave me a comment below. I'm not quite sure how long it's going to be because I still have so many ideas! Anyways until next time!
