You couldn't do it. You couldn't go to the interview you were not meant to be on that team, you just didn't have the skills. You drifted off to sleep, already deciding you would call in sick tomorrow...
Wesker's point of view
It was now 9:15, he had waited for an hour the R.P.D. Officer to show up. Under different circumstances, he would have not have waited a minute over the scheduled interview time, but his employers had taken a particular interest in this applicant. He was sent a letter from Sergei a week after sending him the list of applicants informing him that (Y/N) was to be on the team. Umbrella trusted his judgment in picking the rest S.T.A.R.S. team, and practically gave him free rein of the whole S.T.A.R.S. project. "So why did they insist that you HAD to be on the team?"He asked himself while looking down at your file. The file itself was very unimpressive to him, you had filed out the absolute minim information and your only experience was in the department. You had to be the least outstanding applicant in the stack. "Are you purely a controlled variable? Using your lack of experience to set the bar for the others?" He wondered. He doubted it, he also doubted that it was some moral test for the rest of the group either there must have been something he was not seeing. No matter, he couldn't give you the job if you blew off the interview anyway. He got up from his chair and walked out of the station. "They would regret not following Umbrella's initial plan, even though they were not aware of it if Umbrella wanted something from them they would surely take it." He thought to himself before smirking and getting into his car.
Your point of view
You showed up for work the day after, feeling very good you did not go to the interview. You walked into the building smiling at everyone you passed. You sat down at your desk content with your decision until two hands clapped down on your shoulders. "Fuck!" you yelled, jumping up from your chair as your life flashed before your eyes. You whipped around ready to fight for your life before you realized it was just Marvin. You let out the deepest breath of your life, as he stifled a laugh. "You okay?" he asked. "Yes boss, absolutely fine! I love dying every time I come into work." you scolded. "Sorry about that. I just wanted to see how your interview went or were you too sick to go?" He explained already knowing what you did. You hated that about him, the way he always had that 'I'm not mad just, disappointed' face whenever you did something wrong. "I did feel sick, I just didn't want to go to the interview either." You said looking away. Marvin put his hand on your shoulder and gave you a weakly reassuring smile before going back to work. You felt horrible maybe you should ask the Chief if you could reschedule.
"I'm sure if I explained that I was sick he would understand." #4
"Marvin will get over it. This is my life and I don't want to go." #5
