Dear Diary,
Elena and Jeremy are handling things better after the small funeral we had for Bonnie. Damon and Stefan seem to be getting along and there are no hard feelings between them. Also, Caroline is really happy that Tyler is back and I'm happy for her.
Today is the Whitmore Ball and I'm going with Jeremy. We're going as Romeo and Juliet despite his protests. He wanted to go as Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love but we're going to a ball not an underground club from the 90's.
To be honest, we deserve to have a good time at the ball and just forget about the troubles we have right now.
I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled at my own reflection. Caroline was right, I looked good in white, despite my reservations regarding that idea. My color scheme always involved red and black. Kinda like my vintage Mustang.
My long red hair was curled and I put a silver tiara on top of my head, kinda like in that Leonardo DiCaprio movie Romeo + Juliet. "Hey!" Stefan walked inside my room and smiled at me. "You look nice."
I turned to him and smiled at my brother. "Thanks Steffy."
He smiled at me and stood up. "I have something for you." He opened a black box and I gasped as soon as I caught a glimpse of what was inside. "This was our mother's and I feel like it should be kept by you."
"Stefan..." I was shocked by his gesture. "This means a lot to me." Stefan put the golden necklace around my neck and I touched it, smiling widely. "You're... Perfect!" A tear streamed down my face and I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug.
My brother reciprocated the gesture and caught a whiff of my hair. "Your hair smells like strawberries." He said and I giggled.
"You always know what to say to make a girl blush." I chuckled and he winked at me. This Stefan was the brother I knew and loved.

Jeremy and I arrived at the ball and I immediately spotted Elena and Damon on the dance floor. They were dressed as Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. Their love story didn't end well, either. "Wanna dance?" Jeremy asked while smiling at me.
I smiled at my boyfriend and held his hand, leading him to the dance floor. "You know, I love dancing with you Jer."
He pulled me in for a kiss and pressed his soft lips to mine. Kissing Jeremy Gilbert was just like Heaven. "If you were Juliet, I would gladly die for you."
I playfully hit his arm and chuckled. "That's not romantic!"
Jeremy put his arm around my waist and we kept dancing. "How's this for romance? I love you Mia and the time we spent apart was terrible. Everything is complicated and messy but I feel like we can get through everything as long as we're together." He pulled me closer to him. "Being with you is the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. You're so beautiful, kind, fair and absolutely smart. You're my true love!"
My lips curved upwards into a genuine smile while we swayed to the rhythm of the song. "I love you, Jeremy Gilbert. You always make me smile even when I want to cry or scream." I leaned my head against his chest. "I never felt this normal in my whole life, not even when I was still human."
"You're not normal, Mia." His brown eyes stared deep into mine. "You're extraordinary and not just because you're a vampire." Jeremy tucked a strand of my red hair behind my ear. "You have the biggest heart and would do anything to help the people you love."
I wrapped my arms around his torso and he leaned in to kiss me. This kiss was different, though. It was gentle and passionate. Full of love and desire. I truly love Jeremy.

I was standing near a table grabbing something to drink, when I noticed my brother approaching me. "Can we talk?" He asked while leading me to the dance floor.
Stefan put his gently on the back of my neck and we started dancing. "I didn't know you were coming, Steffy." I smiled and he grinned.
"It amazes me that you're still unable to tells us apart." He said while smirking and I realized I was dancing with Silas, not my brother.
I glared at the evil guy standing in front of me that resembled my big brother. "What do you want, Silas?" I asked.
He continued to lead the dance and chuckled. "I actually need you for something important." Silas looked around the ball and smiled. "I'm searching for the anchor and your brother Damon needs a little incentive to help me find it."
I glanced at Damon and he looked concerned. "You want to use me as leverage for your endgame. Since Damon is not going to help you willingly, you're going to take advantage of his affection for me. Well played, Silas!" I rolled my eyes. "Just so you know, he will only help you if I agree to it."
Silas grinned at me and then I felt a pinch in my stomach. I looked down and saw blood oozing out of my abdomen. "You'll heal." He said before pulling me closer to him. "Now, are you going to help me or should I actually kill you?"
My wound started to heal and I nodded at Silas. "What's an anchor?" I asked, curious about what Silas truly wanted.
"The Anchor is the passage to dead supernatural beings. Without it, there wouldn't be The Other Side and I must have it." He said.
I nodded knowing that nothng could come between Silas and what he wanted. "I'll convice my brother to help you as long as you don't hurt anyone." I looked into his green eyes that mirrored Stefan's. "Please!"
Silas looked at me and smiled. "I promise." His eyes glanced at the blood stain on my dress and he shook his head slightly. "Sorry for ruining your beautiful dress." He twirled me around. "You're a beautiful Juliet." He smiled and we kept dancing, trying to keep people from getting suspicious. To everyone else, I was dancing with my brother instead of a psychotic immortal witch.
