"I'm still worried about what the oracle said," I turned around to look at her. She looked terrible, her face was pale and she looked as if the tiniest motion would frighten her. I walked over and placed my hands on her now fairly large bulging belly. I smiled at her as I said, "Don't worry everything will turn out fine. Nothing bad will happen… I won't let anything bad happen. Trust me." Megan didn't look much better after what I said but she still smiled at me and nodded, she trusted me, she knew I wouldn't let anything bad happen to our son.
I woke up to a crash. My instincts took over and I hoped out of bed and grabbed the hilt of my sword. Before I realized i was coming from our office. I growled annoyed. I thought it was one of those little gremlin thing running around, I've been here for a while but still have never gotten used to those little troublemakers. I marched into the office ready to kill one of those little gremlins for breaking something, again, but when I reached the office I sighed when I saw what really caused the crash. Megan was on the floor trying to pick up the electronics she dropped, with much luck because her very pregnant belly kept on getting in the way. I frowned and looked out the window. It was still dark, but that doesn't mean anything. There no time in the Nevernever, even here in the Iron Realm. I went over to finish picking up the things she had dropped. I put them on the desk and helped Megan get back on her feet. I put my hands on both sides of her face as I said, "You shouldn't be up you need as much rest as you can get." She sighed and looked down and brought her hands up to rest on mine, "I know but I couldn't fall asleep and there was still stuff needed to be done for the railroad…" She met my eyes again. I frowned, "That can wait until later, besides our son looks like he's going to pop out of you any moment. I don't think anyone expects it to be done until after he's born… maybe even a little while after that if he's anything like me" She smiled "Hey, I thought you were sound asleep when I went to bed. How long have you been up?" Im concerned but it just sounds like I'm nagging her. She shrugs, "I never really went to bed…" Megan bit her lip, "After I thought you fell asleep I came in here and stared working." I thought for a moment, that must be have been around five hours ago, human time. I took a deep breath, "You can't do that you need sleep." I took her hand and lead her away from the office. She looked back and started, "But--" I turned around and firmly said, "No buts, sleep." She frowned but didn't resist when I made her lie down on the bed, "You know if it would make you feel better I could do it," She smiled and said, "Thanks but I think that would actually make me feel worse." I laughed, it was true I may be a Unseelie Prince but I suck at doing anything that involves any actual business. "Night my queen"
