Sierra's P.O.V.
Sierra looked at her clock. 3:32 A.M. Why was she wide awake at this hour of the morning. She tried to fall back asleep with no such luck. Ah, well. She might as well get up. In her sweat pants and Little Mermaid t-shirt, she wandered into the kitchen. Celie looked at her from her place on the couch. Sierra waved at her cat. "Morning baby." Celie meowed and went back to sleep. Sierra made herself some tea and put on some music. Sitting on the counter holding her tea, she got lost in thought staring at a spot on the wall. Eventually her phone buzzed, snapping Sierra back to reality. She looked to see what type of notification she'd be getting at this time of morning. An incoming call from Ramin. She picked it up and answered
"Hey Sie..." He said.
"What's up Ramin?" Sierra asked, she was still too wide awake for what was now 4 A.M.
"Nothing much. Couldn't sleep. Sorry. Did I wake you?" He asked. He was always thinking of others.
"No. I've been up for a little while. So what's up?" Sierra knew him too well for him to just say he couldn't sleep. He wouldn't have even bothered calling if something wasn't wrong.
He sighed " I don't know anymore Sie."
"What do you mean?"
"Just stuff. Nevermind. I don't want you to have to deal with my problems."
"Ramin," Sierra said kindly, "I'm your friend. I'm always here for you."
Ramin was quiet for awhile, "How about we meet for coffee or something?"
Sierra smiled a little at the thought of actually seeing Ramin, "Sure."
"Meet at Starbucks at 7?"
"Sound good."
"Great."
Ramin's P.O.V.
Ramin had been tossing and turning all night. He had finally had enough of it. He called Sierra without looking at the time. After their call, he realized that he still had three hours till he got to see her. It would be the first time in a year. He had been busy and so had she. Their schedules just never lined up. He sat at the table with a cup of coffee. He could already tell it would be a long day. At about six, Mandy walked in. Make-up a mess, hair crazy. She was hungover. Again. Even though they were technically divorced they still lived together for Jaiden and Hadley. That way they weren't flip-flopping between homes. But Ramin was getting sick of Mandy always leaving at 9 in the evening and coming back at 6 the next morning. She reeked of alcohol and cigarette smoke. Ramin threw her a bottle of Advil. It hit her shoulder.
"What was that for?!?" she asked angrily
"Nothing. I was just trying to help. It's Advil."
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes.
"Fine," Ramin said slightly agitated. "The boys have to be at school at 8. I have a meeting at 7."
"Ok. Whatever."
Ramin grabbed his keys and a jacket and headed out the door. It was 6:15. He decided to walk to pass the time. It would look really weird if he was there almost an hour early.
Sierra's P.O.V.
As she entered the coffee shop she saw Ramin sitting at the table. He looked tired. He had dark circles under his eyes. His big brown eyes were sad. When she sat down across from him he didn't look up. She cleared her throat.
"Sorry, can I help you?" he said.
"Ramin..." Sierra said.
"Oh! Hey. Sierra."
"Dang. You must be really tired."
"Yeah..."
"So what's up? I haven't seen you in forever."
"Well. Mandy and I got divorced..."
"I'm so sorry Ramin. I know how much you loved her."
"Yeah...we're still living together. That way we're not making the boys go back and forth."
"I'm guessing that's not going so well?"
"No. She's gone all night. And is always either drunk or hungover when she gets home."
"I'm so sorry," she said, putting her hand on his in an attempt to comfort him.
"It's alright I guess." He shrugged. "Anyway, what about you?"
"Nothing's really been happening," she said.
"What? The great Sierra Boggess isn't doing anything!" he said. Being over dramatic, making both of them smile.
"Shhhh. Don't let the fandom hear," she stage-whispered.
Ramin whispered back, "What's a fandom?"
