"Ms. Evans this is going to be the third time you're changing your major. Is this the one? It's very unhealthy to keep changing your mind."

I nod my head reassuringly and try to look at my counselor in the eyes. She's eyeing me curiously to see if I'm not trying to back out. I'm not going to if that's what she's thinking.

" I -I know it's just that I want to have options on the career choice I finally choose and I just wanted to try things out." I stammer shyly and I can hear her sigh and tap away on her computer.

"And what would that new major be?" She peers at me through her thick brimmed glasses and it takes me a second to answer without stuttering.

"Creative writing."

"Are you sure about this major Sutton? Because if you're not, you're going to have to stick with your current major-journalism"

"Yes -I'm sure."

I gaze at my worn out combat boots instead of her piercing gaze that makes me slightly uncomfortable.

"Well alright, here you go Ms. Evans your new schedule with your classes. I hope that this major is the one"

She smiles slightly at me and I shyly smile in return. Grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulder, I exit her office and head to my apartment.

The commotion on the subway was unbearable, and what made it worse was this frigid weather. I know that I should be used to it - I live in New York and all but it still surprises me when the icy air smacks against my cheeks, instantly making them flush. It's not even November yet and the weather is dropping rapidly. I reach my apartment and struggle inside my purse for my key. I really hope I didn't leave it inside. Seconds pass and I finally find it, it was hiding at the very bottom of my purse, As if it didn't want to be found. Little bastard. I get the door unlocked in time before my fingers froze and the blast of heat thaws my red cheeks as I enter the kitchen. I hear faint music erupting from Payton's room upstairs and I chuckle and take my jaket off and hang it nearby.

"Sutton? Is that you?" Payton calls from upstairs and I hear her lower her music - slightly.

"Yeah it's me" I call out "Do you want coffee or anything?"

"Yeah!! I'll um - be down in a minute!"

I chuckle as I get the contents out from the cabinet. I'm guessing she has a guy over. She doesn't usually have guys over all the time , but she's been mentioning this guy lately, I forgot his name already..I'll probably see him as he comes down the stairs. On cue - (I must be a genius or something) - Payton and her 'friend' reach the bottom of the stairs and walk into the kitchen. I give Payton a secret wink and she blushes and looks down awkwardly.

"Pay- I'm gonna get ready to go" Her 'friend says while he struggles to put on his jacket. I try holding in my laughter at the sight infront of me but a snicker escapes from my lips and I feel him look up at me and roll his eyes.

"Okay, Here let me help you, you look like you're having a little trouble there"

He pouts as she buttons his jacket for him and gives him a quick kiss.

"Bye Cam."

Payton closes the door behind her and turns to me with a smirk on her face. "I think we're dating , but I'm not sure"

"You two are cute." I hand her her coffee and I take a sip of mine . The warm liquid warms my body instantly and alerts my senses.

"So how did it go at the counseler's office?" She changes the topic quickly and I laugh.

"It - it was okay, I changed my major again..."

"To what? Please tell me it's not some stupid shit Sutton."

"It's not! It's not! I swear. I chose Creative writing." Payton hums in response and I quickly regret confiding in her, I know I shouldn't but, she can judge at times.

"So have you told your parents yet?"

I shake my head in response and hear her sigh in sympathy

"Sutt-"

"I know- I know, I'm going to tell them tomorrow. I just hope they don't flip out again."

"Yeah I hope so too."

We continue to drink our coffee in silence and I can't help but worry about telling my parents tomorrow. They never like it when I change my majors they think that I should've chose one and stuck to it but I just don't like to stick to one. I don't even know what I want to be. I just hope that they will understand.
