Society
Where we will make you feel
Hatred, pain, power
And we think it's evil
But we never acknowledge
That you and I make up society
We blame things on others
We think power is the best feeling
But have we tried to love
We feel the need to expose ourselves
To feel "loved"
When no one seems to be giving any
So we store our feelings away
You and I don't want to get hurt
And we never address the problem
We need to fix the hate
But you say I'm different
I said the same thing too
When I look back at myself
And I'm not any better than you or you
It's the one person that decides it needs to change
And a spark becomes a fire
A simple smile
A wave saying "Hello"
A compliment to know someone cares
A hug or a kiss
A I love you
To fix the broken pieces
And though it sounds great
No one wants to try
So we stand in the broken pieces
Still wondering
Will it ever get better
And as you stand there
Never noticing
The ones trying to glue it back together
