"Yo!" a senior screams at me. "Come over here. Play a game with us." I grip my cafeteria tray tightly. Why me? I ask myself, as I walk over to the group of seniors.
I would be dumb not to go with them. Everyone knows that if the seniors call out a nerdy freshman like me, you have to go. You would be stupid if you didn't go.
My best friend Allie walks up behind me. "Just saying, this is your chance to to become known. You could go from nerdy freshman to popular freshman that the seniors noticed, just in this lunch block."
"Thanks." I say sarcastically, " I'm a lot less nervous now."
"Come on bro! Are you coming or not?" The senior says to me.
"Hold on. Can you wait thirty seconds for your next victim to come?"
"Wow." Another senior says, "She's sassy. You pick well Brad."
"Okay. What do you want from me." I said.
"Nothing much. We just want you to play a simple game of truth or dare."
"What's the catch." I ask with no emotion in my face.
"Oh nothing. You just have to skip class with us."
I think to my report card. A, a, a, a, a, a, a. But then I think back to my social life. Even the teachers can't remember my name. And if I skip class with the seniors. I can already hear people gossiping about it.
"I go." I say.
"Good. I'm glad you made the right decision." The senior says. Then turns around and snickers to his friends. "I'll see you last period."
