"I'll have an orange juice and a chicken and mayo sandwich please" I ordered
"A glass of water, orange juice and two full in house breakfasts" he says
"Alright I'll be right back Jason" the waitress smiles
"Okay Jason... Ahem, so are you really having two full plates of breakfast ?" I ask
"Nope we both are, and here" he pulls a wrapped up box from his jacket " happy belated birthday princess" he hands it to me
I take the gift "thank you, you shouldn't have really Jason..."
"Open it"
"Okay, mmh let's see" I say as I unwrap the bow and open the box its an iPhone oh gosh the latest.
"Oh my gosh, Jason you shouldn't have, iPhone 14..."
"Please take it, I need to be able to call you"
"Wow Thank you, mmh so you've already programmed your number I see" I look at him smiling
"please use this number from now on..."
The waitress comes with our food and drinks, I take the water and take a sip from it "Thank you" I say to the waitress who's eyeing Jason as if they have some sort of history which wouldn't surprise me. Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to Jason.
We eat for a little while, I then decide it's time we talked about our issues
"So what's going to happen now?"
"I'm going to take care of you that's what's going to happen"
"Jason, I mean with the whole baby, and your other baby issue"
"Roselle doesn't live with me, I sent her packing a week after she moved in that's not my baby I know that much!"
"But what if..."
"It's not, and she's not going to be giving you shit."
"So the plan is to just continue with our lives, as if..."
"Really princess, you going to bring the other baby issue every time, fine look babe let's just say when she gives birth I want a DNA test from her, I want confirmation"
Jason takes my hand as he reassures me that everything would be fine and he'll take care of his mom in regards of the perception she has of me, we all know she's not really fond of me.
"Okay, I guess we can try and take it a day at a time"
"That's right and I really do want you back in my life Cass. Like babe I love you and when I said that to you before I meant it, please give me another chance princess. Let me prove just how much I love and value you."
He stood up and came to sit down next to me and took my face in his hands and looked me straight in the eyes and said
"look at me princess, please let's do this. Please forgive me I'm really sorry, I know I mess up a lot but babe if you're with me you can always let me know when I'm out of line that's why I need you"
"I don't know what to say Jason last time your mom came she just kicked me out like I'm a dog and you were there and didn't..."
"That's exactly why I want to fix things with you, and know that would never happen again. I know I didn't fight for you but I promise from now on you and this baby growing in here you will always come first."
He scoots even closer and kisses me on the lips, and I let him. I love Jason, and I know he does love me too we just have to work on some things and I'm willing to take this chance again.
"I forgive you" I say as I come up for air from our long kiss
"Thank you, I know I'm not perfect but for you I'll do everything I can to be the best father and partner in the whole world for you I promise"
"Promises, promises Jason please don't start" I say taking a bite of my sandwich
"I'm serious, anyways Chloe mentioned you were house hunting how's it going so far?"
I stop eating and glare at him
"Really now, she's been having these conversations with you?"
"I overheard she was telling Shaun, really babe you going to get mad for that" he takes a handful of my hair "these have grown right, it seems a bit thicker and longer or is it my eyes" he tightens the hold on my hair
"I wanted to cut it shorter but..."
"Please don't, I love it like this" he says as he let's go of it and puts he's hand on my belly and starts rubbing
"I won't"
"Good, So the house, found anything of interest yet?"
" I'm not looking for a house, just a one bed apartment and no I haven't found anything yet. I've just started my new job and
..."
"I don't like it, I know you ain't going to listen to me but I really don't want you working there especially now that you're carrying my baby" he takes a drink of his juice and unlocks his phone starts typing away
"Well I have to work, money doesn't grow on trees." I say trying to get his attention
"I know it doesn't, but I'll get you an apartment. I'll get you a car, can you even still drive I don't get why get a drivers licence if you don't have no car anyways I'll fix that for you and please can you consider my request of quitting your job at the coffee shop."
"No. I'm not quitting and no I don't need you to get me an apartment and a car, oh my gosh no thank you."
The waitress picks our plates up, I've eaten so much that I hadn't realised I finished the in house breakfast altogether with my sandwich.
"Thank you" I say to the girl as she clears our table
"So when can we go?"
"Go where?" I asked confused
"Apartment hunting, I want to check some out with you" he looks at me dead serious
"To be honest there's one I really like but its kind of expensive for me, its a two bed, with a fully fitted kitchen, a sitting room, dining area, and a bathroom plus parking"
"I want to see it, where is this?"
"Up in St Peters Rd, I'll send you the details so you could check it out. I've been there already so you can go on your own"
"Are you guys still okay, need anything..." The girl asks
"A glass of water please, and the Bill right Jason?"
"Uh huh," he's still on his phone
I drink my water and he pays
I then grab the box with the new phone and stand and he follows me to the door and we leave.
