You look happy. That is one ecstatic reflection. I love the foxtrot. It might be my new favourite. He told me that in this dance, I fall in love with him. I had to bite my tongue. I think that ship has already sailed, matey!
I love how he builds me up. He keeps saying this dance will be my comeback, my breakthrough. It does feel so much more comfortable. Back in his arms, back to the ballroom. It's the epitome of grace and class. And that song. I hadn't heard it before, but he said it's one he's danced to loads of times. The lyrics. Well, that's falling in love isn't it? Irresponsible. Like you can't control it? And that's why they call it falling, isn't it? Because once it starts, you can't stop yourself.
Oh no, Mollie. You are pathetic, girl. What would you two even do when the bubble bursts?
But the bubble hasn't burst yet, has it? Ellen is convinced we will get a bottom two bounce back – apparently that's a thing. And it nearly always happens. She said Davood had it, even though he was first out the next week, so we should be fine. I hope she's right. She has done years of research, after all. This is another thing that makes Strictly so amazing to take part in – I can get my sister in on the front row to her favourite show every week. She's loving it almost as much as me.
Except I have him. He's so excited about this dance. I think the choreography isn't just about a story – it's about us. Me falling into his arms, him catching me, me seeing him, falling in love through the dance. Well played, AJ, well played. I just wish I could match his choreography with my skill. Someone like Alex, or Debbie, or Gemma – they would really do justice to his craft with their natural talent. I try and try. I just feel sometimes I fall short of the mark.
I look at you in the mirror. Come on, Mollie, what would he say if he saw you thinking like that? He'd tell you that from the moment he met you he didn't want any other partner. That he cherishes every dance with you. That it is more than the sum of steps and beats – it's life steps and heart beats and the moments that take your breath away. It's a feeling, a heartbeat...wait, that's Dirty Dancing. But it kind of applies.
I am going to be so graceful, so glamorous, so stunning in this dance. I will make him proud. It will be memorable.
