"When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun."
-William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"The deed is done."
Vector could still hear those four words, the last words his sparkmate had ever uttered, echoing in his helm.
He glanced up, and over to where the rest of the Primes stood, examining their wounds, seeking comfort from one another.
Unicron has been banished, but in doing so, Prima had given her life. Her hollow frame lay not far away from Vector, though he couldn't bring himself to look or go to it.
He caught a glimpse of Solus in Megatronus's arms, mourning her dear friend, Nexus looking jealously on.
Optimus standing near Alpha Trion, looking concerned and confused. He had been formed moments after Prima's death, and was still a bit in shell shock.
Alchemist tending to a large wound across Liege Maximo's side, Amalgomous waiting nearby.
The large creature that was Onyx in one of his many shapes sitting near Micronus, who seemed to still be a bit giddy that Unicron was defeated.
And Primus, their creator, their maker, standing away from them all, wounds across his frame, his sword stuck point down in front of him, as he stood with both servos on the hilt, watching his creations.
Vector glanced to the side as he heard movement behind him, and turned to see Quintus stop beside him, watching the others as well.
"We did it.", he said softly." Though at a terrible price."
Vector merely nodded, before he cast his first glance at his sparkmate's frame.
It lay cold and grey, the Star Saber still clutched in its servo, glinting coldly in the din light from the young, dull star that hung above Cybertron.
Vector glanced away, unable to look any longer. The blades around his waist clinked together as he shifted, walking straight towards Primus, who was still watching the others.
"What are we to do now?", Vector asked, stopping beside his creator, looking up at him.
Primus stayed silent for several kliks, before he glanced at Vector." We rebuild this world, and make it inhabitable. I will make many in my image, and set them to live here.", he said." All of you are to make this planet inhabitable, to study and learn, to guide and protect.", he said.
"And what of you?", Quintus asked, having followed Vector.
Primus stayed silent again, before he glanced up at the heavens." I will create the core for this planet.", he said." And in doing so I will become this planet, and will be able to grant life to the future inhabitants.", he said.
Vector and Quintus glanced at each other, before they looked back up at Primus.
"And Unicron? What if he returns?", Quintus asked.
"When he returns.", Primus said." For he will return, I can foresee it. But that will not be for a very long time, until we have all faded into legend. When he returns, he will set out to destroy me, but there will be many determined to stop him.", he said.
"Determined to stop who?"
Vector glanced over as Solus walked into their group, followed by Megatronus.
"Unicron.", Quintus said, still watching Primus.
Solus frowned." We just did stop him, shouldn't that be enough?", she said, sounding irate.
"Unicron will never be completely destroyed, just as I will never be.", Primus said." Chaos and order need to exist in this universe, as you all know.", he said, though he looked at Megatronus as he said so, a light of knowing something the others didn't in his optics.
Vector glanced at Megatronus as well. There was nothing he could see, but maybe it was something in the future. The blade on his right hip hummed softly at the thought, but he merely placed a hand on it to calm it.
"Now.", Primus said, straightening himself." I leave you all in charge.", he said, before he glanced down at the group, as the other Primes had already walked over.
He looked first at Vector, who looked back at him, pain and grief in his optics, but also resolve and determination. He would not let this planet, which his sparkmate had given her life to protect, fail.
He then looked at Solus, standing tall, her features resolved and set, meeting his optics with confidence. She would not allow the world to crumble into disrepair.
He finally looked at Nexus, who just until he could sense Primus's gaze had been watching Solus. He was a strong, alert, capable mech, and would not let the Primes fall apart.
"Nexus Prime.", Primus said suddenly, causing several of the others to start, and Nexus to straighten immediately.
"I leave you in charge, both of the Primes, and of the planet.", Primus said." May your guidance be fair and your word obeyed.", he said.
Nexus bowed his head." Thank you. I will not let you down."
Primus merely nodded, and looked at all of his creations, before he gave the smallest smile, and turned, walking across the empty plain until he was out of sight, leaving the others behind, watching him go.
After a few kliks of watching the spot where he had disappeared, Nexus turned to them all.
"We should start to construct some kind of shelter for us.", he said." We need to start figuring out how to make this planet inhabitable.", he said.
They merely all nodded, before they headed out to start construction.
Vector stayed behind, watching them all go, before he walked back over to Prima's frame, and sighed softly, before he slid the Star Saber from her grasp, and put it in the holster on his back, before he turned and walked away, not looking back.
