She sat there on the roof lost in her thoughts. It was the best part of her day. Sometimes an escape from reality is what we all need, it's the escape we've all been craving for. She had just found her escape; on the roof of her building staring off into the distance looking at the city lights, or sometimes looking up at the stars. An escape with her thoughts was all she ever longed for.

She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even notice she had company.

There he stood, leaning against the wall looking intently at her, probably thinking that's she's crazy for being on the roof at this ungodly hour. The problem was, she didn't care what others thought of her anymore, she became her own person.

"Hey, what brings you up here," she smiled, not wanting to come off as rude. "I should be asking you the same question," he replied with a slight humor in his voice. "Well, I come up here every night to think and clear my head. It's like my little escape," she replied with a soft voice. "Well, I hope you don't mind sharing this "escape" with me because I really like it up here, it has everything I've ever wanted; peace," he replied now taking a seat next to her.

Her smile was the answer to his question.

They chatted for hours and hours getting to know each other, sharing a few laughs, clearly have a great time. They both felt truly happy after a long time.

Maybe, the roof wasn't their escape.

Maybe, they just needed each other.

They were each other's escape.
