Dear Diary,
I told Jace and Izzy about the engagement. Izzy, in particular, looked frustrating and she kept asking me if that meant I'd broken up with Jessica Hawkblue.
After I told Jace and Izzy, I told Magnus.
I told Magnus I was going to get married to Lydia.
He looked upset and kept telling me I was making the wrong decision, but I can't think about that right now; I need to do what's right for my family and for the Institute. And when I think about it for too long, I can't help but think I've made the wrong decision.
I had to make a decision today. Jace or the Institute.
I went against Jace-I can't work against the Institute, even if I think Jace, Izzy and Clary might be doing the right thing. Our parents thought that they were doing the right thing when they worked with Valentine, and look at how that worked out.
